If the Lumberjacks play at home like they played earlier in the season against Montana, the Eagles will have a rough day. If NAU stays true to form and craps out in traditional end-of-season fashion, the Eagles could have a field day.
May the best team win.
Um, we had 354 through the air against WSU. Our 5 turnovers are what made Weber State's defense look really good.

Um... 253 of the Eagles' total of 389 yards against the Wildcats were in the 4th quarter with the game already sewn up. Winning the battle of the trenches was what made Weber's defense look really good against Eastern Washington. The result of Weber's defensive performance was 4 sacks, 3 additional tackles for a loss, 3 interceptions, holding Taiwan Jones to 64 yards on the ground, and holding the EWU offense to only 139 total yards through the end of the 3rd quarter. The two lost fumbles occurred in the 4th quarter when Eastern Washington was behind by 18 points and the game was already sealed.[/quote]
You guys were terrific in the trenches against us, so were Montana State and Montana. EWU is a finesse team, it has been for a long time. Our m.o. against really good, physical teams is to outscore them. (As an aside, I think this is what we have to change if we're going to take the next step)
Oh yeah, and you still gave up 389 yards of offense. Perhaps you think giving up 389 makes a defense look good, but I would suggest it was holding EWU to 13 points.
You did do a nice job against Jones, but your lead forced us to throw. BTW, after Boyce went out, we quickly learned to include Taiwan more in the passing game, and that next week he shredded the cats in receiving yards.
While the two fumbles inside the 5 occurred in the 4th quarter, we still had three other turnovers earlier in the game, and the last two would have turned an 18 point lead into a 4 point lead. Even if it's garbage time as you suggest, giving up 27 points and 389 yards harldy looks great.
And if you think any game is sewn up by the 4th quarter with an 18 point lead, you haven't watched enough football - especially the Big Sky.
You guys did control the line of scrimmage, ran the ball really well, and took advangage of EWU's mistakes.
