JMU will likely have to run the table to make it to the playoffs. Next week does not get any easier for them..

Richmond dodges their second CAA bullet.. first in Newark and now Harrisonburg.. but good teams find a way to win and UR is obviously a good team.

One of you JMU fans said "crushing loss for the Dukes"! Now you know how us Spiders fans felt last year after that JMU punt return with no time left on the clock! :shake: :shake: Anyway, the recent pattern of the visiting team winning this contest has held for another season. Hopefully this oddity will end next year when the Dukes come to play in our no campus facility!   GO SPIDERS!!! :thumb: :thumb:

God knows we're all aware of the CAA strength this year, and JMU has a nasty schedule ahead of them. Question for the UR guys - based on your two tight contests, are you guys feeling good about the program (i.e. playing to your potential) or have you left a lot on the table?

It's that other school in Richmond that doesn't have a campus. You know, the non-football one. They use the ass end of Broad St. as a campus.

We knew how you felt BEFORE that game. App State '07, we have the ball on their 9 yd line with 27 seconds to go and our freshmen tailback, ball wrapped in both hands, somehow fumbles and we lose. Delaware '07, four turnovers lead to a three point loss in the waning moments. Youngstown State '06, up 13 with 2 minutes to play. You guys '05, Rascati is scrambling on your 20, trying to get out of bounds, doesn't make it, clock expires and we lose by 3. Don't pull this suffering crap with us, and don't pull any crap off the Zone, I could pretty much guess who's saying that shit.

And yes, the Spiders moving into an on campus stadium is going to significantly decrease the away field advantage the Dukes enjoyed at UofR Stadium, but we will continue to be there, and be loud. After our last close loss, our players bottled it up for 10 months, and we know how that second game worked out  . They would LOVE to continue the streak in your new house next year :thumb: .

And good game, good luck, blah blah blah.

Ouch... yeah, Thorpe looks like a one dimensional QB compared to Dudzik. JMU looked like a legit team with Dudzik in the game while Thorpe seems to run the option/QB keep or throw an errant pass :twocents:

For sho..... but I agree with DukeJack.... until you lose on what seems like a sure thing with a couple of ticks left on the clock in the playoffs, you haven't felt our type of "crushing" loss. F-ing Mickey... why do you go for it on 4th down... it eats at me to this day. :shake:

Hopefully the home field curse won't be lifted next year

I was right on the 9 yd line.....I would have had no problem with Rodney taking the ball and centering it for Stannard, but when that ball popped out, I will NEVER forget the noise that crowd made. Puts me in a bad place to this day.

Any score..?
:coffee:
- Big 10 Football - So boring Wisconsin is our most exciting team...
- Big 10 Football - Where 117th ranked Purdue is dominant...
- Big 10 Football - Where team speed and passing offense are not required...

It was helmet-on-ball. That's how it was fumbled.

I agree. After watching the play, ASU caused the fumble.

As for Thorpe, I obviously think Dudzik is better but it is what it is now. I'm hoping he can start really working on getting better every week. I'm actually feeling good about the Villanova game. Our defense will keep it close and I think the offense can start to do some things now that Thorpe takes all the first team practices. I don't think we're making the playoffs, but I think we finish out well.
