Trump Endorsement Derailed by MAGA Racism
“No way. What does it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul? No political gain is worth insulting our Christian faith. 🚫 No Muslims in America 🚫 No Muslims in office,” one Trump supporter wrote in a reply on Truth Social.
...
“Have you lost your mind, endorsing Muslim candidates? Don’t we have enough of them in Government already?” wrote user ConitaDrew. “You are not the man that I voted for three times, you have no wisdom whatsoever where Islam is concerned, you are arming people or wanting to arm people ‘Turkey’ that hate us and Israel, that someday will come for us.”

“Honestly??? Why????” posted kimberlee2922, who describes herself as a “Proud Conservative.” “Do you think there are already too many foreigners in congress??? Don’t you think enough is enough at this point????”
...
“YOU ARE BEING MISLED, President Trump! This guy is a snake in the grass. Muslim and never voted for a republican in his whole life. Moved to Michigan last summer and immediately filed to run for office. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!” wrote JoniMarieForLiberty.

Bodycams record agents using slurs in LA raids. ACLU says it proves racial profiling
"There was a guy, I'm pretty sure he was wet, just sitting in that minivan," the agent says, using a shortened form of "wetback," a slur long used to demean Mexican and other Latin American immigrants.

In another video that captures conversation between two agents on patrol in LA, one uses a derogatory term — "tonk" — that's thought to refer to the sound of an agent's flashlight striking a migrant's head.

"There's one right there!" the agent says after spotting someone in a nearby vehicle. "It looked like a tonk in the driver's seat."

"Wetback" and "tonk" are both terms that Border Patrol supervisors in the past have sought to ban their agents from using.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other civil rights groups obtained the bodycam footage — most of it from last year — as part of a lawsuit alleging that ICE and Border Patrol agents are racially profiling. I

So what.

It wasn’t over the radio. It wasn’t around members of the public (within earshot). Newsflash- members of law enforcement (and military) amongst themselves are going to say politically incorrect things. Bodycams capturing that is a relatively new thing.

He didn’t say wetBACK. He said ‘wet’. Most illegals in the US came via the US Mexico border. When illegals cross the Rio Grande River they get wet, including their backs, because newsflash……….water is wet. If they crossed NM, AZ, CA, they were called ‘scratches’- scratched from going under or over the fences.

TONK can also be TONC- Traveling Outside Native Country

The majority of BP agents are Hispanic themselves.

Talk about NPR grasping for straws.

Excuses, deflections and projection (I'm not racist, you are) are the standard maQa MO.

The BP agents have been talking this way long before Trump (and probably worse back in the day (remember ‘Operation Wetback’ in the 1950s). The only difference now is body cams that got subpoenaed. Sure the left will pearl clutch, but what the article stated those agents said on the body cams is a giant nothingburger.

So it isn't racist simply because it's been happening for a while?

WRONG - it was racist then and it's racist now. Just because it's not new doesn't justify or excuse it.

More maQa yahoo deflections.

Of course. The racist SPLC pays racist groups to be racist so the SPLC can report on racism. Like the firefighter who‘s an arsonist.

Former SPLC official arrested as feds expand case over alleged $4M scheme involving extremist groups
Federal indictment alleges donor funds were secretly funneled to groups like the Ku Klux Klan

Yeah, he’s right, one in which your overlords are two people who don’t like each other, but join in the interest of making billions of dollars off of you —or two people who genuinely love each other, enjoyed some pancakes together, want to come together to build the kind of America where they can raise a family and know that that family is going to have the good things. So yes, you’ve got two different visions of America. Donald Trump’s vision is the one you’re living in right now. Can you afford your gas? Can you afford your groceries?

I asked ChatGPT - "How do trump and the MAGA right's attacks on Muslims in America compare to past attacks on immigrants from Germany, Ireland, Italy, China, etc.?"

It's response ...
Yes. There is a strong historical parallel, but it is important not to flatten the differences. The most useful comparison is to think of anti-Muslim politics today as part of a recurring American pattern of nativism: an established majority portrays a newer immigrant/religious group as culturally alien, economically threatening, insufficiently loyal, or uniquely dangerous—and political movements then turn those fears into restrictions on immigration and citizenship.

The recurring pattern
Earlier target - What critics claimed - What actually happened politically
  • Irish Catholics (1830s–60s) - Papal agents, drunken, criminal, incapable of republican citizenship - Anti-Catholic riots; Know-Nothing movement; attempts to restrict Catholic political power
  • Germans (1840s–WWI) - Foreign, culturally incompatible, insufficiently loyal; later, enemy sympathizers - Anti-German violence and repression during WWI; German-language institutions were targeted
  • Chinese (1850s–1900s) - Job stealers, racially/culturally unassimilable, inherently foreign - Anti-Chinese violence and the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, the first major federal law broadly excluding an immigrant group
  • Italians (1880s–1920s) - Criminal, anarchist, racially inferior, unable to assimilate - Mob violence, lynchings, discrimination, immigration restriction; the Sacco-Vanzetti era intensified fears
  • Southern/Eastern Europeans generally (1880s–1920s) - Inferior, radical, criminal, incapable of becoming “real Americans” - National-origins quotas dramatically restricted immigration in the 1920s
  • Muslims (especially post-9/11, and Trump era) - Terrorist sympathizers, culturally incompatible, hostile to American values, potential security threat - Surveillance, political attacks, mosque controversies, proposed/executed immigration restrictions and the Trump travel ban
The Know-Nothing movement is particularly revealing. It explicitly portrayed Catholic immigrants—especially Irish—as a threat to American government and culture. Anti-Irish and anti-German propaganda used stereotypes remarkably similar in structure to contemporary portrayals of Muslims: “They are arriving in large numbers; they don't share our values; their ultimate loyalty is elsewhere; their religion makes them dangerous; they will change America.”
Wash, rinse, repeat ... but, but, but, this time is different.
