No offense, but it's drama-filled posts like that one that drive people batty. How exactly is Trump going to declare martial law? He doesn't have that kind of power. And second, there'd need to be something on the order of an actual invasion by a foreign military force to do that, and I don't see us at risk of invasion anytime soon. And why would arresting the President be something the SS or the military would do? I don't think they have that power either. They could just ignore the orders. We have other means, whether it be the 25th amendment, impeachment and removal from office, and the 22nd amendment to get Trump out of office. The Republic is just fine, we'll have federal elections next year, we'll have a Presidential election two years after that, and the system will keep rolling along. Histrionics like this don't get us anywhere.UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 9:54 amWe’ll see. trump declaring war on the American people could be a step toward him attempting to declare martial law and no elections.BDKJMU wrote:

We can be certain that if that does happen you’ll be on here twisting yourself into logical pretzels telling us why it was justified. The question will be: how will the SS and military respond? Will they honor their oath to the Constitution and arrest trump or will it be the end of the republic?

His rhetoric about the left (enemy within, extremists, unhinged, etc.) is just as dangerous if not more so as calling him Nazi/Hitler. He actually said he wants to use blue cities as training for the military. Can you be absolutely sure that he won’t declare that an invasion by the enemy from within as an excuse to declare martial law prior to the 2028 elections?

Re: Culture Wars
I did hear what he said. As much as he'd love to put the National Guard in places, so far he's only managed to put it in LA (the first time he did this when folks were unprepared for this tactic and in a state with a Governor that's also know for theatrics) and in D.C. (already a federal controlled entity - no other place fits this mold). Every other place where he's tried this he's been constrained by the courts and the states. Again, it's a federalized form of government, with 50 separate entities making up the whole. He only has so much reach, and there are plenty of guardrails in his way. He's a despicable human being and a pretty mediocre President. And he'll be gone in January 2029, and sooner if his health doesn't hold up. Heck, he may leave on his own when the Dems win the House next year. But the Republic will outlive him without a doubt.UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 10:37 amDid you hear what he said to the generals? Yet you accuse me of histrionics and drama filled posts? Ganny is most likely right that the guard rails established by the founding fathers will prevent it but your nuts if you don’t think trump wants it any way he can get it.BDKJMU wrote:Lawl I rest my case.UNI88 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 9:54 am

Maybe just dance and taco belle need to be threatened with excommunication."Someone who says I'm against abortion but is in favor of the death penalty is not really pro-life," Pope Leo said. "And someone who says I'm against abortion but I'm in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States, I don't know if that's pro-life."

Let’s just put this psycho killer back out in the gen population…And the father would be 100% justified in killing him.

Puerto Ricans are US citizens but you go down there and ask any Puerto Rican if they are American… if they understand the question because most of them don’t speak English anymore, They’re gonna laugh at you and they’re gonna say hell no I’m a Puerto Rican ….
However, when they go to apply for unemployment, disability and their snap cards, they will be carrying the American flag, but only if necessary …

Preferences, quotas, set asides, mandates, etc. of any kind are patently unfair and un-American. Conservatives should earn these positions based on merit not expect them to be given to them in the interest of "equity".Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 11:50 amNoooo

Irrelevant to whether preferences/quotas are unfair. If they're unfair in college admissions then they're unfair in hiring professors. You don't get to cherry pick.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Wed Oct 08, 2025 12:22 pmSo why are all the professors predominantly liberal?
