Don't confuse my curt answers as upset. I many times am simply trying to get a reply out as home life gets a little hectic. If we were to meet in real life you'd realize I'm pretty easy going and will happily join in making fun of myself.

Re: 2024 Primary
Apparently DeSantis just fired a dozen staffers. The issue is that DeSantis gets most of his contributions from the super wealthy and they're maxed out on giving.

Keep in mind, Donald Trump released his campaign fundraising details showing over a million small donors helped raise $35 million with an average contribution of $34.20. Small donors, that’s millions of middle class and working class MAGA folks, are the fuel for President Trump’s campaign.
According to the latest FEC filing [DATA HERE] the DeSantis campaign team took in $20.1 million, but burned through $7.9 million in just six weeks. This presents a major problem for the campaign, because over two-thirds of those contributions were from maxed-out donors who cannot contribute again. Only 15% of DeSantis campaign fundraising came from small donors.
Every campaign needs a wide and deep donor group from the voters in order to tap them intermittently for assistance as the campaign continues. DeSantis just doesn’t have that with only 15% of his total raised coming from small donors. That makes the burn rate a major problem, and with the scale of payroll assembled, he needs to cut expenses after less than two months of campaigning.

The super wealthy aren’t running out of money. DeSantis is failing despite their support. They’re simply looking for the next Trump alternative that will provide an ROI for their donations.SeattleGriz wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 7:53 am Apparently DeSantis just fired a dozen staffers. It's not about them running out of money, it's about them already being maxed out on donations. That's why it's important Trump's base is the average Joe that has only given $35. There is still plenty of room to give again.kalm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 8:05 amThe super wealthy aren’t running out of money. DeSantis is failing despite their support. 2nd qtr of 2011 Obama re-election campaign spent 11 million (close to 15 million in today’s $$).
2nd qtr of 2023 Biden re-election campaign spent 1.1 million.
Does that sound like someone who is definitely running?

Sounds like somebody saving his ammo. Chris Christie is just baiting the fuck out of the Donald, obviously hoping to goad him into agreeing to a debate. Biden is smart to let the Republicans squabble while he spends his time looking Presidential, doing Presidential shit with Presidents of foreign countries.
Makes for a good juxtaposition, the Lion and the Sewer Rat.

trump and the MAGAt yahoos have left the Republican Party. Their priority is forcing their social opinions on others not economics/national security/law & order.
Ranked choice voting took the power away from the extremists and gave it back to the majority. That's a positive.

Implosion or a rift. Murkowski, Rupert Murdoch, establishment Republicans are worried. That’s why DeSantis got so much funding early on. Hope for anyone but Trump.
MAGA branding is not a sustainable winner.

No, they are responding to the left trying to force a change by forcing their social opinions on everyone. The right is just responding.
To the contrary, ranked choice consolidated power in the big $$ establishment (ex Murkowski). The only good news about the donks winning the Senate and House seat in Alaska is the rest of the red states have now seen what a disaster it was, and won’t be implementing it in the future. Course none of the blue states will be dumb enough to inplement it either, so we certainly won’t see it implemented in the future in any non purple states..
