Arguing for secession and supporting an insurrection are soooo much the same as leftwing extremists guilting us old white guys about pronoun preferences and history of racism. :)

If I wasn’t post partisan and had a side like yours I might try making the same arguments.

:flag:

unsportsmanlike like conduct for false equivalency, number 88.

This is 88’s first unsportsmanlike penalty of the game. Any additional unsportsmanlike like penalty will result in disqualification.
You are hardly unbiased and therefore any flags you throw or penalties you call are invalid. Stop impersonating a referee.

AOChe, Omar, et all did support an insurrection - the BLM/AnTiFa riots of 2020. They were just as much of an insurrection against our government as January 6. AOChe, Omar, et all don't want secession because they feel the righteous calling to educate people they feel superior to. They also know they will struggle to feed the urban elite and downtrodden without the farms and ranches of the red states.

Deny it all you want but you and your wokehodists and the angertainers are two sides of the same coin.
Did you type this with a straight face?

Here are a couple of examples of a reasonable response to MTG’s comments:
Utah Governor Spencer Cox, a Republican, denounced Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s "national divorce" proposal as "evil."

"This rhetoric is destructive and wrong and—honestly—evil," Cox wrote. "We don’t need a divorce, we need marriage counseling."

"And we need elected leaders that don’t profit by tearing us apart," Cox continued. "We can disagree without hate."

"Healthy conflict was critical to our nation’s founding and survival," the governor added.

And imagine that…not one mention of the 2020 BLM secessionist movement.

I agree with Governor Cox and Cheney on this and I probably criticize/mock MTG more than you do.

I also think it's funny (i.e. ironic, i.e. hypocritical) that you get your undies in a bunch over stupid stuff MTG says while minimizing the stupid stuff her illiberal twins say.

You do seem to be a wee bit jealous that the right-wing whackaoodles have more influence than the left-wing whackadoodles that you support.

I will say it again, your wokehodists and the angertainers are two sides of the same coin. I mock and criticize the whackadoodles on both sides of the aisle.

I don’t feel compelled to add on to your excellent work most of the time. I also don’t equate wokism and the Squad’s alignment with racial activism or calls to action to actual literal attempts and support of insurrection and secession.

I know you won’t agree and that’s ok.

Here’s another example of a popular Republican sentiment.

Meanwhile, even British conks recognize the right side to be on here:

“Boris Johnson and Liz Truss have urged Rishi Sunak to send fighter jets to Ukraine during a debate in the House of Commons.

Truss said she “could not wait to see fighter jets over Ukraine” during her first contribution as a backbench MP since her resignation in October, while Johnson, her immediate predecessor who resigned in July, urged the government to “cut to the chase” and “give them the planes”.

Their interventions added to the pressure on the prime minister to send British fighter jets to Ukraine.

“We need to do all we can to make sure Ukraine wins this war as soon as possible,” Truss said during a debate on the conflict in Ukraine.

“Every extra day, a life lost, women violated, towns destroyed. We need to do all we can, as fast as we can.“

Republicans. :ohno:

It seems like only yesterday that the same crowd was all about "...we have to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here....."

Republicans would rather suck Russian dick than support a Democrat policy. Thats why they're so good at it. :coffee:

A tweet one day from Greene, and another day from Gosar. Do you have your Twitter account set up to follow the crazy rantings of every fringe Republican? This dude's a crazy dentist who, like Greene, isn't on any committee influential enough to have much of an impact. Again, his biggest reach is to make incendiary tweets and then count on folks to share them across Twitter and other message boards. Paul Gosar is probably thanking you for your help in reaching the masses with his drivel. :coffee:

About two weeks ago my Twitter feed started filling up with Ronny Jackson, Gossar, MTG, etc. There’s also this thing called “re-tweets”. Perhaps you’ve heard of them?

Do you think Gosar is the only pro-Russian/anti-Ukrainian R?

Of course I don't. But if you think Gosar and Greene and their "pro-Russian" stance is really all that common in either party then you're being disingenuous. SG is the local Russian bot here but that doesn't mean the rest of the posters here on CS are just as blindly pro-Russian as well just because we all post on the same message boards. Gosar and the like are fringe members of a party. There are 220 some odd Republicans in the House and maybe 10-15 can remotely be labeled as whacko crack-pots like Gosar and Greene can. The Dems have several members of the House who advocated for the elimination of Israel, but that doesn't mean it's the policy of the party they happen to belong to. Fringe means just that, the fringe, i.e. not the majority. You give voice and amplification to these fringe elements every time you tweet and retweet their message. Again, I'm sure they are thankful for your support.

It ain’t just the fringe, Ganny. I know you want it real bad to be so. But it ain’t.

I’d prefer zero members of congress and former presidents supporting Putin. You find a certain amount acceptable, apparently. :thumb:

As Patrick Henry said (or Volataire, or some biographer for one of them), and I paraphrase, we may not agree with what someone says, but we should defend the right for that person to say it. I think they, the Greene's and Gosar's and Oman's of the world, are whackos and political hatchetfolk. But they are welcome to say what they want to say. Frankly, I find it far easier to find the whackos and discount them once they make themselves known as they do when they clap for Putin. In that aspect, I find it not only acceptable but also helpful.

What part do you disagree with?
The whole thing.

The 2A clearly states, "the right of the people to bear arms..."
"People" are individuals and the clear fact that the other 9 amendments in the Bill of Rights are there to protect individual freedoms and to limit government overreach. It's not that hard to understand.
This.

Also the left likes to point out the phrase, as Hogg did, of "well regulated." as somehow this meant only a militia, and went against an individual right to keep & bear arms. In 18th century English "well regulated" simply meant proficient in marksmanship.

I was looking at it more from a legislative action/leadership standpoint. I’m still waiting/hoping for moderate Republicans to take back control.
Is she driving anything from a legislative action/leadership standpoint? She's not on any committee that's really significant in terms of power or policy. Her strong suit seems to be getting people to tweet about her, and then hopefully cascade those tweets down to message boards or other web sites. No one likes to tweet about moderate politicians so I'll doubt we'll see many of those tweets make their way here like hers or those about her do.
Greene now on the House Oversight Committee. That's a pretty big one in terms of power..

Fortunately, we have Manchin and Sinema (for now) on the moderate Democrat front.

At least two issues here.

One, gerrymandering minimizes the number of competitive districts so that a party can retain control but it also creates safe districts where extremists hold more sway and elect whacko, extremist candidates like MTG and AOChe.

Two, I know Ganny doesn't like it but open primaries appear to help resolve this. In a solid red or blue district the opposition party candidate has almost no chance while a more moderate candidate from the primary party might. Open primaries might not be the answer but they are better than the whackos controlling the primaries and thus the representative in solid red or blue districts.
Also can be just the opposite during primaries due to sabotage. During an open primary people can go in and vote for the more fringe, wackadoodle guy on the other side, helping him win the primary, thereby making it easier for your guy to win the general. That happened in this last election.

Open primary as in all candidates are running in a single primary, not party specific primaries. The top 2, 3 or 4 move on to the general election.

How would MTG have fared in a general election against a moderate Republican? Boebert would likely have lost against a moderate Republican. Don Samuels would likely have beaten Ilhan Omar in a general election.

Isn’t the legislature’s job to pass laws and lead? Rather than drive than drive the angertainment industry? Didn’t McCarthy have to make concessions to her and the MAGA caucus in order to win the speakership?
Are you jelly that MTG, Boebert, et all have used their positions to wrangle concessions while AOChe, Omar, et all haven't been able to?

What came first? The angertainment industry or the wokehodist movement?
Hey, I coined that term on here over a year ago in Jan 2022. But its spelled 'wokeahadist'. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :D

It's a good term for kalm and his sanctimonious bunch. I thought I was spelling it wrong.

I'm not sure about the term angertainers for MTG, Boebert, etc. I get the anger aspect but I think we need something stronger for the post-trump MAGAts.

:)
Someone talking about a national split doesn't automatically mean wackadoodle. There's have been people on both sides for years talking about needing a split of red & blue states. And not all of them (both sides) have been wackadoodle.

A crooked, corrupt, country being attacked by a bigger, crooked, corrupt country doesn't make the smaller crooked, corrupt country our friend.

Are we at war with Russia? If Russia is our enemy, then you would have to call China a MUCH BIGGER enemy. They are certainly a MUCH BIGGER threat.

So Gosar's tweet rates as true. :coffee:

:coffee:
Like Greene, Gosar is now on the House Oversight Committee. I take it you don't think the House Oversight Committee has much power or impact. :coffee:

Deny it all you want, you are just as partisan, just as biased and just as quick to attempt to deflect attention away from points that you can't reconcile with your worldview as BDK. :coffee:
