I have zero problem with Christian faith. Or Muslim faith. Or pretty much any faith. As long as it’s personal and not used to deny others rights.

That doesn’t mean insistence on their version of the truth of things is off limits (especially outspoken media celebrities) to poke fun at or in the case where it harms others, sincerely criticize.

Generally speaking, the rapture is not a tenet of many Christian churches, and is generally specific to more contemporary, evangelical churches in the US. Whether that means fundamentalist or not is really a point of discussion over what that term even means.

The list of evangelical churches that don't like the Catholic Church is quite a long one. Heck, my Mom, in the '60's, lived in a suburb of Philly (one of the surrounding counties) and couldn't apply to certain jobs because they advertised as "No Catholics". The vast majority of Catholic churches where I live aren't that long established as this used to be a strictly Protestant area. Of course, there's plenty of blame for this and the Catholic Church has their own flaws over history that account for some of that.

I don't think Protestant anger is directed at anything the Catholic church has done, but believe it's more policy difference. Protestants, especially more Fundamental, believe you get to go straight to Jesus, no one else needed. They look as it from the angle you are diminishing Jesus' power by requiring anyone else.

Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Mormons tend to be very conservative. Illiberals hate Mormons but they give Romney a pass. Why? More importantly, why do you assume that all evangelicals are worthy of mockery.
