Not a single one of us knows what happened. None of us knows why the FBI was even there. Everything is all speculation at this point.
Trump and the FBI are the only two entities that know what's going on. I'm pretty sure neither of them are posting on this board.

True. It is all speculation. Trump can rehearse the warrant info and the FBI can too. Trump turned over the Mar a Lago surveillance tapes requested by the FBI after the spring visit so they both have those as well.bobbythekidd wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 11:27 am Not a single one of us knows what happened. My biggest problem with the use of the word "insurrection" is that it plays into the stupid narrative that the most important thing going on was that democracy was in actual danger and not that people (including police) died.
Trump was not going to be able to stay in power with help from plenty of guys with uniforms and guns. It's stupid to think Qanon Shaman and the guy that put his feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk are going to be able to stop the transfer of power.
Literally every member of congress could've been killed and it would be figuratively messy but eventually things would go on.

Haven't we known for some time that Trump and the DOJ have been discussing these files? I didn't think that part of it was news. That's literally been going on for almost 20 months. What changed this week that made a raid necessary? Again, how important were the things they were looking for? And how important that the DOJ couldn't wait one day more for them? Were they important enough to take on the risks of raiding a former Presidents home, especially one that is likely to announce another re-election run? And to do it within 100 days of a midterm election? Trump is probably in the wrong here, but the DOJ bungled this and the political optics of this almost beyond belief. Again, this stuff better have been more important than checking off boxes on an itemized list of documents that some archivist wanted to mark complete.kalm wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 1:56 pm A federal grand journey subpoenaed documents ahead of the June search.

Defund the federal courts!
https://forward.com/fast-forward/513804 ... volvement/The judge who approved the search on former President Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago estate was attacked Tuesday for his synagogue involvement by a retired Major League Baseball player. By Wednesday, an online mob was making violent antisemitic threats against him.
Judge Bruce Reinhart, a former prosecutor who had previously been criticized for representing former employees of Jeffrey Epstein related to his sex-trafficking scandal, appears to be on the board of a South Florida synagogue. Trump loyalists eager to question the legitimacy of the FBI raid seized upon that detail.
What began with Lenny Dykstra, a retired New York Mets legend, questioning the nature of the Reform synagogue’s Judaism, spilled over onto right-wing social media platforms and message boards, where users published the judge’s name, address and personal information. Threats have been directed at Reinhart’s children and supposed family members as well.
On Thursday, a synagogue member told the Forward that the synagogue’s beachside Shabbat service had been canceled “because of the social media hate.”
One user on 4chan, an online message board known for racist activity, wrote: “About that Judge that signed the search warrant…Bruce Reinhart once quit his job as a U.S. Attorney to work for Jeffrey Epstein.” Another responded writing, “That is a k***. And a pedophile … He should be tried for treason and executed.”
“I see a rope around his neck,” wrote a user on the separate pro-Trump message board formerly called TheDonald, according to Vice News.

Right. So, to summarize: a man is a man, a woman is a woman, a baby is a baby and abortion is murder, and a recession is a recession. And Jan 6th can be INTERPRETED as a lot of different things. Re: January 6 - How much do you care?
20 weeks seems like quite a long time to turn over the documents nicely. I don't think DOJ would give you or I that much time before executing a search warrant. They afforded him a long leash, imo. He still hadnt turned over the documents. I think we all know he had no intention of turning over the documents and doesn't seem like it would be hard to convince a judge of that.GannonFan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 2:22 pmHaven't we known for some time that Trump and the DOJ have been discussing these files? As to the contents, we have no idea and can speculate whatever we want. They're a nothingburger and appeasing some clerk at the archives that wants to check a box, they're classified documents trump was holding onto to sell to the highest bidder, they prove #spygate and DOJ wants to recover them before it's exposed. Blah blah, blah.
The search warrant would shed some light on that. DOJ has offered to unseal it as long as Trump has no objections. Think he will object? My money is on it going like his tax returns...

https://redstate.com/mike_miller/2022/0 ... ch-n610645Secret Service agents were also present and facilitated the visit, officials said.
Trump signaled his full cooperation, telling the agents and prosecutor, “Look, whatever you need let us know,” according to two eyewitnesses. The federal team was surprised by the president’s invitation and asked for an immediate favor: to see the 6-foot-by-10-foot storage locker where his clothes, shoes, documents and mementos from his presidency were stored at the compound.
Given Trump’s instruction, the president’s lawyers complied and allowed the search by the FBI before the entourage left cordially. Five days later, DOJ officials sent a letter to Trump’s lawyers asking them to secure the storage locker with more than the lock they had seen. The Secret Service installed a more robust security lock to comply.
