But CNN and the rest of the infotainment industry (as well as supposedly reputable media like NYT) had a Pavlovian response every time Trump opened his mouth.

Literally - if I had a dime every time a CNN chyron ended with “... said without evidence.” I’d retire already.

I have long thought (for about 30 years) that our mass media is largely populated by incurious, lazy children. The last four years went a long way to proving me right.
