I know you weren’t. And I literally said nothing about agreeing with what she said or a desire to defend it. If I had, you would have quoted it by now.

I did. You're denying this more than you're denying what she said was inflammatory. Good bye.

Get ready for poutrage over the wwwwwaaaaaaycism that prosecutors couldn't get guilty verdict on the impossible-to-prove most serious charge.

Cowardly jury. The murder charges won't stand up on appeal, but the manslaughter will.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
I fully expected it, and don’t really blame them. A not guilty would mean they & their families would face retaliation, houses vandalized, burned down, etc. CNN already plastered their faces all over TV.
Agreed, the murder charge won’t stand on appeal, but the manslaughter will.

Sure Klan.
Chauvin was guilty of murder. He is a disgrace to law enforcement.

BTW, I thought the point of charging with the different counts was to give the jury options. I guess I don't understand how you can be guilty of three charges of murder and/or manslaughter for one victim.
Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Yup. When everyone around you - including the victim - is pleading that you're killing him, that he can't breathe, and you stay on his neck for 9+ minutes because you think you're above everyone else...there's no excuse.
Chauvin is a murderer. He'll lose his appeals.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Did Waters make inflammatory statements? Yes.
Could those statements rile up a protesting mob and lead to a riot? Yes.
Did Trump make inflammatory statements? Yes.
Could those those statements rile up a protesting mob and lead to a riot? Yes.
Both were wrong. Both should be condemned. Why is one vilified and the other defended? Hint: it's because of politics/ideology not the righteousness of their cause.
And if nodded your head in agreement to Jelly's mockery of "But Hillary" deflections in 2017 then then you should put away your "But Trump" deflections in 2021 and vice versa.
Yeah, we did it but they did it first or worst or whatever is not a valid defense.

I agree. Whattaboutism should be avoided when possible. So should bothsidesdoitism.UNI88 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 2:34 pmDid Waters make inflammatory statements? Yes.

1). I pointed out the use of a Posobiec tweet in light of the msm thread. Cross thread jabbing is still allowed, yes? 2). I suggested that racial justice (implying as a cause...not Watters) is a bit more righteous.
I’m sorry I wasn’t more forceful in denouncing a politician being a politician.

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Maybe beacuse of the appeals?
-If 2nd degree got overturned on appeal, still have the guilty of 3rd degree.
-If both murder charges got overturned, still have the guilty on manslaughter.
Guess we’ll know in a year or 2 or 3...

Re: Here We Go Again (Minneapolis, MN)
Chauvin will be sentence on most serious charge.
Link
2nd Degree Murder: also called felony murder. To prove this count, prosecutors had to show that Chauvin killed Floyd while committing or trying to commit a felony — in this case, third-degree assault. They didn't have to prove Chauvin intended to kill Floyd, only that he intended to apply unlawful force that caused bodily harm.
2nd Degree Murder: For this count, jurors had to find Chauvin caused Floyd’s death through an action that was “eminently dangerous” and carried out with a reckless disregard for and conscious indifference to the loss of life.
2nd Degree Manslaughter: Prosecutors had to show that Chauvin caused Floyd's death through culpable negligence that created an unreasonable risk, and that he consciously took the chance of causing severe injury or death.
Testimony that revealed Chauvin should have known to put Floyd in a side recovery position, that he should have provided medical care before paramedics arrived and that he stayed in his position after he was told Floyd didn't have a pulse could all point to negligence, said former U.S. Attorney Tom Heffelfinger.
Each count carries a different maximum sentence: 40 years for second-degree unintentional murder, 25 years for third-degree murder, and 10 years for second-degree manslaughter.
But under Minnesota sentencing guidelines, for a person with no criminal history, each murder charges carries a presumptive sentence of 12 1/2 years in prison, while manslaughter has a presumptive sentence of four years.

Cross thread jabbing is still allowed and encouraged but as SD pointed out does the source of an undoctored video matter?
Racial justice is more righteous IMO but that's an opinion and I question whether Waters cares about racial justice .
Definitely still friends.
