NDSU is too high, should be 15 or lower. This wasn't a game where the Bison committed too many turnovers, they were dominated on both sides of the ball. Coming off a lackluster performance against YSU the week before. Should be a good time to build towards the fall season.

NDSU has to show me a lot more then they did the first 2 games to still be considered a big boy. Weber is and has been one of the big boys for a few years now.

Montana, Montana St, Villanova, Albany, UNH, and UD all haven‘t played in 15 months or longer. Yet the Montana schools aren‘t ranked and the CAA are. These polls are retarded.

While I do believe Weber is a top 5 team nationally now, they need to show they can compete and even beat NDSU and JMU before they can really be considered a big boy. NDSU may be having a down spring but its a weird one to begin with. NDSU will be back to being NDSU soon enough.

Do those CAA teams plan on playing this spring?

Regarded would be not knowing the Montana’s are sitting out the spring and that voters are instructed to not consider teams that aren’t playing.

Also repeatedly punching down (I think) with the word retarded.

Swing and a miss-I KNOW the Montana schools aren’t playing. That was my whole point- they are no different now than the ranked CAA that haven’t played since 2019. They are ALL 0-0, intentions to play this winter/spring or not, and ANY school that hasn’t played since 2019 should not be included in the polls, whether they plan to play in the winter/spring season or not, when you have 60 or so teams that HAVE played games in 2020-2021, and around 40 or so that have played multiple games. This is basically a Week 3 poll. There’s nothing to say you could not include a team in polls that hasn’t played, then plug them in at 5, 15, 25, whatever if deemed deserving, once they have played.

So yes, these polls are retarded.

So if Alabama has their first game cancelled because of a hurricane, no one should vote for them, since they haven't started the season...

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Montana schools chickened out of playing, so no point in ranking them. While the CAA schools you mention WILL be playing.

Has Bama ever not been in the final 8 a season, then not played for 15 months, skipping a whole calendar year, then not played for the 1st 2 weeks of of the season when 60 some teams have played games, and 40 some or whatever have played multiple games, and been ranked?

You said it right there, this is the equivalent of a Week 3 poll. In a normal year, teams have played, by Week 3, anywhere from no games to upwards of 3 games, and you have plenty of teams with just 1 or 2 games under the belt. And those that have played have also had a healthy diet of early season cupcakes, so the number of really pivotal or demonstrative games are few and far between. Early season polls ALWAYS include a healthy dose of forward projecting for the season ahead, even once the season has technically begun. There's a reason why, in a normal football year, some people say we shouldn't even have polls until October (at which time teams are 4 or 5 games into the season). Don't overreact over nothing, which is where we are right now in this odd football season.

I think it’s hilarious to argue over “poll” position in a meaningless, exhibition season poll.

Ivy League schools get ranked before they start playing and they usually don't start until week 3 or so I think every year.
