I don't disagree with you either. I do think how much was allowed during the BLM protests raised the bar for the MAGAts. What happened in DC did not happen in a vacuum. What happened over the summer doesn't excuse what happened in DC but that doesn't mean it wasn't a contributing factor. Placing the blame solely on the right without acknowledging and addressing the ongoing and worsening degradation of civility and desensitization to attacks on government and authority is only going to serve to further anger and isolate people who feel that their government has abandoned them.
We'll see if Democrats truly want reconciliation and healing by how they respond. Calling Republicans Nazis is not a good first step.

As I've said many times, I am an extreme conservative. But if you want to argue for conservative approaches you should do so with the truth. That is NOT what is happening with the conservative movement right now. And it's time for conservatives to stop attacking things like the mainstream media and tech companies when those entities call them out for their lies.

2 people would be alive today if Wednesday didn't turn violent. We can only assume about the other 3 so I'll give it a pass. The multiple injuries to officers wouldn't have occurred - so much for Backing the Blue.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 8:47 pmDid it? The officer and the woman who was shot were 2. That defense is weak. You’re making excuses for a group of people of willingly broke the law and caused the deaths of 5 death in the process. Not to mention the multiple injuries, destruction, theft and fear they were instilling in the people in the building at the time.
You’re trying to excuse the insurrection - it’s inexcusable. Have some integrity.

It's still inexcusable. It was inexcusable when extremists on the Left went violent last summer and it's inexcusable now that right-wing extremist have gone violent.

The Assembly was in session at the time and Speaker Pro Tem Carlos Bee ordered the men removed from the chamber.

I agree as far as violence goes, but you're sitting on the fence a bit too much I fear. The subset of violent protesters in DC was simply out to stop our government representatives from fulfilling their duty. After nearly 250 years of peaceful change. I think that the majority of protesters in both instances were peaceful. But trying to compare the end game of both (more equitable treatment by authorities, or hell free TV's if you like vs attempting to stop succession as outlined by the Constitution) is bullshit.

Did I hit a nerve? Is your vagina sensitive?
As I type this, Donald Trump is the duly elected President of the United States. The leadership of the Democratic Party has spent the last four years trying to discredit and remove him and now they want Republicans to meekly follow because a Democrat is about to assume the office? Hypocrite much?
The downward spiral in civility isn't going to stop until the leaders in both parties start acting like adults instead of spoiled kids.
