It’s a shame that the Constitution doesn’t have a provision permitting a (super)majority of states to expel another state for conduct equivalent to what the 25th Amendment permits us to do to a POTUS who has gone around the bend.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 8:43 amCalifornia bill to form reparations task force advances after 33-3 state Senate vote.

CA residents are asked to turn off appliances and use the AC sparingly during heat waves. Yeah not exactly the best energy policy example to use nationwide.

This is going to make bordering states car dealerships happy.
Also my best wishes to future Cali EV owners in keeping their vehicle charged with the cuts to power generation and a fracking ban.

https://hotair.com/archives/ed-morrisse ... cars-2035/True, but the 2035 ban will force auto manufacturers to start selling more electric vehicles now in order to build enough of a customer base to get the support infrastructure in place. That’s not just outlets in homes and public places, but also building service networks, training more mechanics, and getting spare parts in place to keep the vehicles running. That can’t be developed overnight — it will take years to put those in place in sufficient quantity to succeed.
In other words, California won’t have fifteen years to add more supply to the grid to meet that demand all at once. More and more vehicles will get added to the grid for power replenishing starting in the next few years. That will add to the demand that California can’t meet at its present levels of supply, with the shortages forcing the state into serious rationing in the form of rolling blackouts.

No nukes, though. Nuclear bad.
Imagine how much better off we'd be emission-wise if environmentalists and green folks back in the '70's and '80's were as successful as they were in demonizing nuclear energy.

Or have a quick charging "station" similar to a gas station where one can get a mostly complete charge in 10 or so minutes.

Charges for power used should not be a big deal as that would just replace gas/diesel costs.Winterborn wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 9:13 amI foresee an other charge on my hotel statements for power used.CAA Flagship wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 6:47 am

Hotels would have to add the equipment and maintenance cost of the stations to the bill, and figure out a way to limit the use to guests only.
There should be some good investment options from this.

California is going to have to get busy for the infrastructure to be in place for this. A lot of issues with meeting electric demand from EVs, particularly from the high output fast chargers.

I don't see how this can be within a governor's authority.

Re: All Things California
Funny thing is was probably a liberal since driving a Prius. But wtf were the cops arresting the guy for? The guy clearly was a victim of multiple counts of assault by a violent ANTIFA/BLM mob that was illegally blocking a street/highway, chased him down in 2 vehicles and a motorcycle, ran into his Prius, smashed up his Prius, and assaulted him while he was in the vehicle.
If you end up in that situation, you’re either facing:
-Damage to your vehicle.
-Serious bodily injury at a minimum.
If you’re vehicle is surrounded/cut off by an ANTIFA/BLM mob, better to floor it and say you feared for your life. Better to be judged by 12 than carried (or operated on) by 6.
