Carter Hart with back to back shutouts as the #1 seed in the East takes a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Habs.

Should've won last night, didn't put the Habs away when they could've, especially after getting two goals on that power play. Learning how to close a team out is important in the playoffs. Hopefully they get it done in game 6 rather than letting this thing go the whole 7.

Hey, at least we got to see the rare August feat of three of the four major Philly teams losing on the same day. That's usually reserved for April and September!

If the Flyers blow this series to the Quebec Frogs, it will cap an epic year of underachieving suckitude for Philly pro sports.

We could see it again tonight. Pity the Phillies are only playing one game tonight or they could even exceed the level of mediocrity from the other night. Only the Phillies can twice, in a shortened season, score 7 runs in one inning in two separate games only to go on to lose those games by later surrendering 7 runs themselves in another inning. Way to go Phils! :ohno:

Flyers close out the Habs, 3-2. One Philly team survives the night.

Now the Flyers advance to play the tough Islanders, who just eliminated the Caps.

Defending champ Blues also going home.

Islanders dominate Game 1. I have a bad feeling about this series.

Not exactly how you would like to kick off a series. Inauspicious indeed.

Top five scorers for the Flyers have been MIA all playoffs. You have to actually score to win.

They also gave up two point blank shots for scores on Hart. He kept them alive for awhile when the Isles were dominating.

Also, when you go empty net with over 7 minutes left and the other team banks one in within five seconds, it just ain't your night.

They must win the next two or it's over. Isles are the hot hand this year.

Flyers came to play today!

What's this? A goal by Couturier in the postseason? Two from Hayes? If the stars start scoring for the Flyers, watch out. Hell, Giroux and Konecny may even score a goal this postseason at this rate.

Indeed, a much better start for the Flyers. Chasing the goalie in the first period.

And they piss it away.

(Btw, it looked to me like the refs got the Flyers' challenge wrong on the Islanders' tying goal. Looked like the puck crossed the blue line before the retreating Islander got his skate back to the blue line.)

Nice OT win. A loss would have been devastating.

Flyers done. They won't win three of the next four. Hart with two soft ones allowed

Flyers live to fight again with 4-3 OT win. And Giroux finally scored a goal. Don’t like the way they coughed up a 2-goal lead in the last 5 minutes of regulation, though.

They looked really good throughout the OT though. Hard to see them winning two more before the Isles win one, but you never know. Not a lot that separates these two teams, Islanders have just been better at finding a way to get the puck to go in. The Flyers still struggle mightily to score. Tons of great chances throughout the OT before the eventual game winner, just couldn't convert.

Flyers force game 7 with 5-4 win in 2OT! Hart played out of his mind. First time Flyers have won 3 OT games in the same playoff series. :notworthy: :thumb: :notworthy: :thumb:

They've been fun to watch, even when they've been outplayed you never thought they were out of it - the goaltending helps immensely with that. Great that they got to a game 7, still have a chance to move to the other bubble.
