Very cool. Do you actually mean high schools or just high school age? Aren't most high schools graduated/done by that time of year?
High schools. I think Iowa may be the only state that plays HS baseball and softball in the summer rather than in the spring. So we will be doing regular season although it will be shortened by almost a month.

So why did they have a journalist running their dashboard?
Gov. DeSantis is the paragon of truth
Nobody can understand why he's not making all the data public

that's how "science" works
instead, we're getting highly curated data from the governor's office

Nothing to see here...
This Tampa Bay Time artile indicates that it withled data to verify it. If verifying data is considered "curating" or "fudging" then there isn't much else to say.
According to internal emails reviewed by the Times, Department of Health I.T. Director Craig Curry emailed Rebekah Jones just before 5 p.m. on May 4. He cited Dr. Carina Blackmore, director for the Division of Disease Control and Health Protection.

“Per Dr. Blackmore, disable the ability to export the data to files from the dashboard immediately. We need to ensure that dates (date fields) in all objects match their counterpart on the PDF line list published,” Curry wrote.

Letter from doctors to Trump highlighting what HI5er has been railing on about for many weeks now.
Gold wrote the shutdown has adversely impacted Americans due to missed cancer screenings, canceled dental appointments and spikes in mental health problems.

“We are alarmed at what appears to be the lack of consideration for the future health of our patients. The downstream health effects of deteriorating a level are being massively under-estimated and under-reported. This is an order of magnitude error,” the letter says.

“The millions of casualties of a continued shutdown will be hiding in plain sight, but they will be called alcoholism, homelessness, suicide, heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure,” it says. “In youths it will be called financial instability, unemployment, despair, drug addiction, unplanned pregnancies, poverty, and abuse.”

This makes no sense. SC is opening up attractions like mini golf and Carowinds. But not parks. :dunce: :dunce:

I thought parks was strange as well. Bars and gyms maybe, even though they have more impact on me.

And we don't give a damn about no SC here. ;)

But why is it always Nigerians (from the article)? There are like 54 different countries in Africa, but the only one that comes up time and time again with regards to money fraud is Nigeria. What are the odds? Probably something like 1 in 54 I guess. So 6.93%. :coffee:

She also mentioned, many of the COVID patients are also from other states. I assume Western Minnesota, as Fargo is a regional center.

I'm seeing a lot of news about Drive-in movies being shown. Anyone know how the audio is being done?
Large speakers?
Through radio broadcast?
Through an app?
Yo Mama?
Other?

The ones here have it through your car radio or a radio you can rent. The pop up ones are using large speakers.

Fargo's county had 93 new cases today

Montana (the entire state) new cases by day:
1,0,1,7,2,0,2,4,0,1,2,1,0,0,2,0,0,0,1,0

Obviously Fargo is next to Minneapolis and Billings is next to nothing, but it's a pretty big difference for two states with low populations and different strategies

So Trump declares people can go to church and he’ll override any governor who says otherwise.

Question for the lawyers here is does he have the authority to do so?

God, (or Allah, Yaweh, Baal, Zeus or whatever(s)) help me though, I think he may be on the right track about the issue from a governing standpoint. Restraining religion in any way in this country seems to be skating on pretty thin legal ice. Better to just leave it alone. I also think it's piss poor judgement of the churches to meet when their is a possibility of harming congregants. The Almighty(ies) will hear you even if your neighbor doesn't.

Why do you think he cares if he has the "authority" ..?
He doesn't give a sh!t where his authority starts or stops - that's 'The game" he plays

He's pandering to his constituency and making a parade of the events
the statutes of his authority are meaningless - this is a Gameshow called America to him
Q: Name something that offends Republicans?
A: The actual teachings of Jesus

Does he have the authority to override a governors emergency orders?

“Restraining religion in anyway” is a pretty high bar. Should we allow Sharia Law if certain local governments approve of it?
