Like I posted above, GA doesn't have '2nd degree murder'..Pwns wrote: ↑Fri May 15, 2020 12:15 pm I'm pretty sure lynching would require premeditated murder. Unless the plan all along was to try and let Arbery grab the younger McMichael's gun and have the elder McMichael try to shoot him without hitting his son it looks like just plain second-degree murder.

Apparently FL is one of 3 states with "3rd degree murder" that he wasn't charged with (other states PA and Minnesota). I live in PA & didn't even know that it had 3rd degree murder..
Neighboring GA is apparently different- has no 1st, 2nd, 2nd, or 3rd degree murder, just Felony Murder.

Why that police department, the DA and those 3 rednecks are still alive shows you how far this country has fallen.

It’s immaterial to the use of force. Especially since these guys weren’t police

Actually I think the fact there weren't police makes it worse. Wouldn't be out of the ordinary for police to follow for 4+ minutes. Rednecks with weapons in a pick up following a guy on foot... sounds premeditated to me.

which just for fun lets guess how many black folks are in the jury - my 1st guess is ZERO
at that point the prosecution has to settle on manslaughter (period) because no way 12 white folks in Georgie hang bubba
so I repeat
regardless of how this "looks"
its a manslaughter case

and with as high profile and as racially charged as this is, no way do they allow this to be an all white jury. I am willing to bet they'll be at least 1 black. My guess is they'll be 2-3.
Newsflash- they can charge with more than manslaughter, and yet it not be a capital murder case. Of course they aren't going to 'hang' bubba. One, GA doesn't do death penalty by hanging anymore. Second, there's close to zero chance this is going to be a death penalty case.
Whether or not they are charged with murder (again no degrees in GA), yes, at least the son (shooter), will probably be found guilty of manslaughter.
