Re: Coronavirus
Let this one sink in for a second...
“The tragic effects of our battle with the novel coronavirus are seemingly endless. But arguably the most mind-blowing is this: the very pandemic that threatens to infect and kill millions is simultaneously causing many to also lose their health coverage at their gravest time of need.
Here’s how: the virus has caused a public health crisis so severe that people have been forced to stay home, causing businesses to shutter and lay off workers. And with roughly half of Americans getting their health insurance from their employer, these layoffs mean not only losing their income but also their medical coverage. In other words, just as our need for medical care skyrockets in the face of a global pandemic, fewer will have health insurance or be able to afford it. According to one recent report, the cost of treatment for Covid-19 can run around $35,000. As the patient in the report exclaimed: “I was pretty sticker-shocked. I personally don’t know anybody who has that kind of money.”

Re: Coronavirus
And that's the problem. Let's say a patient spends two weeks in a hospital on average, and the hospital has 100 beds. That's $3.5 million charged in two weeks.
Charges for a piece of equipment that a hospital purchases is not set based on the number of uses only, it's set on a factor of time as well since interest on borrowed money is based on time. So they determine the average use of, let's say, a ventilator, over a year and charge an amount per use to pay for the machine in a set period of time. If you use it more than the average, the hospital ultimately charges more than it's goal and makes bigger profits.
My rant here is merely to point out that the high cost of healthcare is not drug prices alone.

Agree with what DeBlasio says in this interview , but the people going after Trump should watch those clips from February. And on CNN no less.

FL set up checkpoints on I95 at the GA/FL line (for the New Yorkers) and on I10 at the Bama/FL line (for the New Orleanians). Also checking inbound flights. Sac Bee has a couple of interesting stories (behind a paywall so can't post). But basically CA hasn't increased public lab capacity since the 1950's (explains the low CA numbers although not sure why private labs can't be contracted to help), and CA has been sitting on a bunch of old ventilators (~4200) that have to be refurbished before use.
Chinese Flu patients on ICU in CA hospitals have jumped from 200 to 410 "overnight".

If you can find them...
I have a few dust masks I usually keep around the house. Used one to go to Costco yesterday. Won't help as much as a N95 mask, but anything helps.
Also, if you are infected, and don't know it, a mask will limit the spread of droplets

CNN and other reputable News Outlets are not giving Trump's Campaign rallies - which is all his daily press briefings have been:
Remember these golden oldies?
RUMPS OWN WORDS ON CORONAVIRUS
January 22: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it totally under control”!
January 24: Trump on Coronavirus “It will all work out well”!
January 30: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it very well under control, and I think its going to have a very good ending. So that I can assure you”!
February 2: Trump on Coronavirus “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China, but we did shut it down!” No clue whatsoever of the severity of what’s coming.
February 10: On Fox News Trump says without evidence that the coronavirus "dies with the hotter weather” "You know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat
February 24: Trump tweeted another baselessly claims: "The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA.”
February 25: Trump falsely claims : you may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re ALL getting better! Obviously he doesn’t care for those who died from it. (Like captured soldiers)
February 26: Trump wrongly says the coronavirus "is a flu"
February 26: Trump baselessly predicts the number of US cases is "going very substantially down" to "close to zero”
February 26: Trump wrongly says the flu death rate is "much higher" than Dr. Sanjay Gupta said. Coronavirus has 10X death rate compared to flu. If 60K die from flu then 600K will die from Coronavirus!
February 27: Trump baselessly said: "It's going to disappear. One day -- it's like a miracle -- it will disappear.
February 28: Trump said at a rally: Coronavirus is a democratic” Hoax”. No, it was a warning he did not listen to as usual. It’s always all about him.
March 2: Trump falsely claims "nobody knew" the number of US flu deaths, nope he’s the only one that doesn’t know as usual.
March 2: Trump says a vaccine is coming "relatively soon” Trump did not mention that CDC had told him earlier that day that a vaccine was "a year to a year and a half" away.
March 5: Trump wrongly claims the virus only hit the US "three weeks ago” Trump was informed of a confirmed case on January 21(6 weeks prior). He lied.
March 5: World Health Organization (WHO) based on data collected around the world stated the global mortality rate for coronavirus at 3.4%. Trump says :”I think the 3.4 % is really a false number, this is just my “Hunch”! (Hunch over Facts in Trumps world)
March 6: As the number of cases and deaths in Italy rises, Trump says
“I hear the numbers getting much better in Italy” Another Lie.
March 6: Trump falsely claims anybody can get tested if they want. That wasn't true. There were an insufficient number of tests available, as Pence said the day prior, and Americans could not get tested simply because they wanted to get tested. "You may not get a test unless a doctor or public health official prescribes a test,"
March 6: Trump baselessly muses that "maybe" the coronavirus improved US jobs numbers, Trump never thinks in terms of people and families losing lives… just numbers to boost his ego.
And this

Re: Coronavirus
Company wants to reduce employee's pay by amount of stimulus check
https://www.thelostogle.com/2020/03/29/ ... s-payment/
One of the few positive things about the Coronavirus pandemic is that it shows us just how greedy, heartless and merciless some corporations can truly be.
For example, we have learned via the Ogle Mole Network that ImageNet Consulting – an Oklahoma City-based “Information Technology Solutions” firm that sells high-dollar copiers, scanners, and IT services to companies all across the country – is requiring their remaining employees to forfeit a portion of their April paycheck that is equal to the amount they will receive from their government-issued Coronavirus stimulus payment.
Basically, ImageNet Consulting has figured out a way to pocket their employees’ stimulus checks!
The move comes after the company has already conducted mass layoffs as a result of the pandemic, and was first kind of reported by KXAN out of Austin, which is home to an ImageNet Consulting branch.
For some reason, KXAN didn’t identify the company by name:
While Congress was working out the details on a bill that would provide Americans with stimulus checks, at least one Austin company was looking for ways to save payroll.
“The form says they are preemptively deducting funds from our paychecks. That number is based on what they’re anticipating the government relief fund to be,” a worker for the company told KXAN. The worker asked not to be identified in this investigation so as not to impact his company’s ability to continue doing business…
In all fairness to ImageNet, they could use the extra money. According to this blog post by company president Pat Russell, the privately held company – which is worth at least nine-figures – only has annual revenues that exceed $100-million, and margins that run about 40%, so they also obviously need their employees stimulus checks to remain so profitable!
In fact, they need their employees kids stimulus payments, too!
The agreement would put workers under a “temporary compensation reduction that is in line with the assistance that it receives from the federal government related to the COVID-19 pandemic.” By signing the agreement, the company’s employees would have their paychecks between April 6 and April 20 cut by 100% of any money received under the stimulus bill.
The company would also take half of the $500 stipend allotted for dependents under the bill.

It will work out. We’ll get therapeutics, then a vaccine, and the disease will be defeated.
Did shut it from coming any more from China after some with the virus had already come in. But it kept more from coming in. And you libtards cried racist. Its under a year and half away. The 18 month clock started back in Jan, are over 20 vaccine trials underway in a global race. Phase 1 testing began in record time- about 60 days. So far Trump has been right. It’s obvious to anyone that the publish WHO mortality rate is bogus because of the world wide mass # of untested and/or asymptomatic. Dr Fauci (among others) have also said around 1%. So Trump’s “hunch”’is right. :nodMarch 5: World Health Organization (WHO) based on data collected around the world stated the global mortality rate for coronavirus at 3.4%.
