I think they should move a few more agencies out of DC. :coffee:
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has lost more than half of its Washington-based employees who were slated to move out West as the agency pushes ahead with a controversial plan to relocate staff.

New internal numbers from the Interior Department obtained by The Hill show 69 employees have left the agency rather than accept the new assignment. Another 18 left after the plans were announced but before they could be reassigned.

Brian Williams and some NYT writer make a math mistake that puts 21÷ 3 = 6.93 to shame. :dunce:

That is just priceless. Author of the Tweet not standing down either. Admits she's bad at math, but says point still stands. No. Your "point" does not still stand. If you wanted to say the $500M could have been better spent, go for it.

Pretty sure she was roommates with AOC.

And it would cost significantly more than $1.53 to process those payments. lol

Mrs. CCU got a bill for a toll the other day. $0.53 toll. Is it really worth it to send a bill for 53 cents?

This could explain why Mara Gay worked with "Project 1619" and thinks slavery made America an economic powerhouse.

I think the Freedom Caucus has done more to damage the libertarian brand than anything else

Not sure I agree. They were quickly co-opted by Trump, for sure. Amash used to be a member, but Massie never was, and most FC types never claimed the libertarian label. Not all Tea Partiers were libertarians. Nor are all “conservative activists.”

I do argue that George W. Bush did more to damage the “conservative brand” than anyone else.

Conservative in "words" or actions..?
Because there hasn't been a conservative president in 100 years that's actually "reduced the size of government and spent less" than his Liberal predecessor... So we need to distinguish "conservative talk" from action because Conservatism in action looks wildly different than its rhetoric

Conservative in actions. My point being, if Coolidge was the last decent Conservative as a President, then maybe there are no longer any Conservatives that can win the Presidency.

Chizzy, conservatives aren't some monolithic block that you can lump together. There are fiscal conservatives, social conservatives and chronological conservatives (pining away for the good old days when a woman's place was in the home and people of color weren't so uppity), etc. Yes there are a lot of supposed fiscal conservatives who only care about deficits when they're not in power.

Same thing applies to liberals. I consider myself a liberal in many ways - I try to keep an open mind, I believe we should try to help people help themselves and leave the world a better place - but I don't agree with the free sh!t for everyone approach.

Gosh I'm sorry I poked a hole in one of the core fundamental tenants of conservatism

I'll try not to do that anymore - I see it hurts your feelings
BTW: there are some Liberal fundamental beliefs that are also not applied in practice and only rhetoric too
