Speaking of pandering....

Biden makes no mention of qualifications or actual names when SCOTUS was brought up. He just said he's nominating a black woman!

Also somehow Pete becomes more unlikable by the day. I'd rather vote for Bloomberg than Pete at his point, and I hate Bloomberg.
It really is amazing that the Democrats are going to screw this up twice against Donald Trump. It's a remarkable feat.
I mean the entrenched centrists aren't going down without a fight; this was known. They already failed once against Trump, so I'm not sure why they think another establishment candidate is going to win this time around.

Healthy debate is good though. That CBS sh*tshow was not a healthy debate.

Was a free-for-all. The mods lost control. Sanders took some solid punches but kept yelling over people. Klobuchar may have been the least annoying participant. Biden was less demented than I expected. Bloomberg is a pygmy in more ways than one. Warren quoting the Bible was a hoot. Buttigieg was just a nerd who dodged more questions than anyone else. Steyer is a lightweight blowhard.

Honest answers to that “biggest misconception about me” question should have gone like this.

Sanders: “I haven’t been to synagogue in 15 years, and the poster on my wall is Che, not Fidel.”
Warren: “I’m not 1/1024 Cherokee, I’m 1/1024 Seminole.”
Biden: “I’m still allowed to drive at night.”
Steyer: “It’s hard being the only Gentile billionaire left standing.”
Klobuchar: “I’m really not such a bitch to work for.”
Buttigieg: “I like bold primary colors. Not really into pastels or earth tones.”
Bloomberg: “I’m not related to that old Joo York Yankee DH.” (probably only JoltinJoe will get this one)

Here's my ranking for this debate:

T-1: Sanders took punches and had a bad first 30 minutes, then held his own for the rest of it and took out Pete and Amy along the way. His response to the misconception about him was solid, and was the only response which didn't include some lame joke.

T-1: Biden was a lot more animated than usual. This was probably his best debate, although he had some "senior" moments.

3. Warren's clearly a policy-wonk and makes knowledgeable points, but she doesn't challenge anyone but Bloomberg. That's her weakness.

4. Steyer did really well...when he spoke. But you mostly forget he exists.

5. Bloomberg got a lot of talking time and didn't do worse than last time (low bar). He was fiery at the start, but progressively forgot he was on a debate stage as the night went on. By the end of it, he had reverted to the unprepared, boring person that showed up last week.

6. Amy just needs to go away. Somehow she talks a lot yet you never remember what she's said.

7. As mentioned before, Pete simply makes himself more unlikable as the primary season continues. He only questions others and never actually explains his own policies. And on top of that, he's formed a habit of simply interrupting everyone.

8. CBS. Seems like they prepped for five minutes and said "f*ck it, let's do this thing."

Bernie played defense all night and did fine. The other Democrats are not going to win the MFA debate in a way that will help them in the primary.

Warren is pretty ho-hum and should probably focus more on attacking Biden and Bernie and less on stupid attacks on Bloomberg most people don't care about. She'd rather be woke than play the game smartly and that's one reason she couldn't stay near the top.

Bloomberg still isn't doing well but did a lot better than last time.

Klobuchar still unapologetically presenting herself as a politician and emphasizing her political skills. That's not going to win. I predict Super Tuesday will be her last stand.

Buttigieg is really skilled on the debate stage and is quick on his feet as always but doesn't really do enough to set himself apart from anyone else other than Bernie, and he is kind of an empty suit.

Biden's pitch is "I'm Obama's top guy and we got shit done". He'd probably be better off not being in these debates and just coasting. I don't agree that he has dementia, but his mental acuity is definitely slipping. The weird comment about being arrested in South Africa and him saving millions of people from ebola (LawL) aren't helping him.

Wasn't there one more guy? Eh, who cares.

What a craptastic job by CBS.

Did anybody else think at times Warren was auditioning to be Bernie's VP?

And the misconception/motto answer I wanted to reach through the TV and slap Amy so she'd shut up.

Warren is gunning for VP, hence her focusing on taking out Bloomberg and not Bernie.

Not really DNC news but progressive news outlet Young Turks fighting unionization of its workforce.
Cenk Uygur, one of the founders of the progressive news network The Young Turks, reportedly pleaded with his staff not to unionize during a meeting earlier this month, at times speaking passionately about his opposition to the move.

Agreed. I hate groups of people that all think alike and operate in lock step refusing to acknowledge others opinions or realities. That's why I love this place! :thumb:

All the talking heads last night and this morning are praising Biden for a great performance.....I just don't see it. He looked like the oldest most confused person on the stage (again).....and that has been a common trend. Every so often he makes a lame joke or puts on his tough guy act.....it's pretty pathetic. Can anyone imagine him being President in 4-5 years? :?

He is suffering from dementia

Being totally honest here - I like the guy as much as I can like a politician. But I really feel sorry for him right now and wish his wife would yank him

In the outside chance he gets the nomination, he’ll pick that Abrams harpy and that will depth charge him in the general. He needs to bow out and ride off into that sunset, enjoy his retirement with some dignity

Pete's a shill for corporate America. And there's no bigger group of real socialists in this country than corporations.

Which is why he still has a chance and enough money to have made it this far.

Also...he literally says nothing. Perfect...malleable...corporatist.

That’s why I anecdotally said “among MY Democratic friends”, Karen.

The MSM has been at it for months, simply more subtle than with Trump. But it’s ramped up the last week. I’ve probably seen a dozen or so hit pieces on social from major outlets in the past 24 hours.

He’ll have as hard a time with the Primary as he would in the general.
