I find extreme beauty in places like Utah and New Mexico. He will non-stop bitch about them from the moment he gets off until the moment he gets back on the plane. A place without leafy forests is worthless to him.

Trump is the greatest president ever by a long stretch. See how easy that is making ludicrous statements?
California is one of the worst states in this nation..
1) By far the most beautiful / and second place is a distant 2nd
Again, opinion. Much of CA is beautiful, but to say no other state is close is laughable..And I've been to all 50..slept in all 50..driven in 49..
2) By far the most geographically diverse / and 2nd place is a distant 2nd
Wrong. Do you just make shit up?
Alaska has 32 ecoregions. CA has less than 10.
https://www.fs.fed.us/rm/ecoregions/pro ... ed-states/#
http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?ad ... ecoregions
3) The most productive state
True, but per capita GDP CA not even close to the most productive.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/248 ... -by-state/
4) The most popular state / projections say by 2025 15% of the US population will live in California

True & not true. It is the most populous now. CA 2017 US Census says 12.14% of US population.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U ... population
US population now Census estimate 326 million, projected about 336 million 2025. 2015 study projected CA population to be at 42.5 million 2025, which would be about 12.6% of the US population.
http://www.ppic.org/content/pubs/report/R_215HJ3R.pdf

CA population growth is SLOWING. If it wasn't for high immigration, legal and illegal, it would have little population growth.

"Californians fed up with housing costs and taxes are fleeing state in big numbers
*More Californians are moving from the Golden State, particularly lower-income residents, although even middle-class residents are saying goodbye.
*The trend is a symptom of the state's housing crunch and, for some, high taxes.
*Census Bureau data show California lost just over 138,000 people to domestic migration in the 12 months ended in July 2017.
*Lower-cost states such as Arizona, Texas and Nevada are popular destinations for relocating Californians.

Outbound migration
.....the latest Census Bureau data, from July 2016 to July 2017, show "more people moved out of California to other states than moved in from other states. In other words, California lost people due to domestic migration...."

During that 12-month period, California saw a net loss of just over 138,000 people, while Texas had a net increase of more than 79,000 people. Arizona gained more than 63,000 residents, and Nevada gained more than 38,000....."
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/19/califor ... state.html

"...For more than three decades, California has seen a net outflow of residents to other states, as less expensive southern cities like Phoenix, Houston and Raleigh supplant those of the Golden State as beacons of opportunity...."
https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/12/us/q ... iving.html
Odd note:
By 2025 it has been suggested that 1-in-4 Americans will live in Texas or California
Closer to 1 in 5. Below 2017 Texas study has 2020 Tx population at about 29.5 million, 2030 projection at about 33.6 million, so 2025 would be about 31.5 million
http://www2.twdb.texas.gov/ReportServer ... and=Render
So the projected 2025 CA (42.5 million) & Texas (31.5 million), combined 74 million, = less than 22% of projected US 336 million.

Plenty of beauty in America and they all vie for the top spot - CA is not unique in that regard. Second place, even assuming that CA is #1 (which it's not in my book), is not distant at all, and there's a load of states that would vie for that distinction.
Agreed.

MS 13 will be running the state in the not too distant future, easy access now and sanctuary cities will help them get elected.

Every ocean beach in Delaware is infested with jellyfish as soon as the water is in the mid 70s. That’s just a fact.

That shit is all relative. Two years ago I took my sons to the top of Mt Washington, NH. It was calm and 80 degrees at the bottom. It was 40 with 60mph winds at the top. We all bought knit caps at the gift shop. In August.

I get the investment aspect. I don’t get Palm Springs.

You’re not alone. Bob Hope and many millionaires like(d) it too.

I’ve been there several times (it was the closest thing to Twentynine Palms that wasn’t a methhead town). It never had any appeal whatsoever. It was kind of like Beverly Hills-lite, but in a desert and really hot.
