No #98 from Albany..................so we'll go with a random Asst. Coach:

This time its Jamie Casullo....

Image
Jamie Casullo joined Bob Ford's coaching staff as running backs coach in July 2008. He comes to the program from Syracuse University where he served as offensive graduate assistant since 2006.

Casullo assisted with Syracuse's offensive drills and was in charge of the defense and special teams scout teams. He had additional duties with developing play books, scouting reports and video coordination.

From 2004-06, Casullo was an assistant to the defensive backs coach at Brown University. The Bears won the 2005 Ivy League championship during his tenure. Casullo worked primarily with the free safeties and had recruiting responsibilities in the states of New York, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama.

Prior to his arrival at Brown, Casullo was the wide receivers coach and assisted the special teams coordinator at Union College. He also worked at Buffalo State with the receivers and kick returners from 2002-03.

Casullo was a four-year starting wide receiver at Buffalo State and served as team captain as a senior. The Bengals reached the NCAA Division III playoffs twice and won the 2002 ECAC Northwest championship.

Casullo, 28, earned a B.S. from Buffalo State. He was an All-Central New York selection in football and baseball at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. Casullo's father, Bob, has worked in the NFL since 2000 and is currently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' tight ends coach.

Montana's #98 is not assigned. In place of unassigned numbers, I'll profile incoming recruits since some of their future numbers will have likely been passed over by the time they get them.

Don't know if the number has been reassigned yet... but the #98 that would have been playing for the Dukes had he not tested positive for a banned substance:

Image
J.D. Skolnitsky
Defensive Tackle - DT
Height: 6-5 Weight: 255
Redshirt Junior
Previous Affiliations
Fairfax

At JMU: Fourth-year Duke with all-league potential as he has the opportunity to settle into a single position, said DL coach J.C. Price... has been used at DE and DT and can play an enhanced DT role as he adds weight, Price said.

http://www.jmusports.com/ViewArticle.db ... EASON=2008

HARRISONBURG, VA- JMU senior defensive lineman J.D. Skolnitsky tested positive for a banned supplement as part of a random NCAA-ordered drug test, following JMU’s playoff game against Villanova on Dec. 6, and test results from another urine sample confirmed those results three weeks later, JMU coach Mickey Matthews said at a press conference Thursday.

As a result, the NCAA has declared Skolnitsky ineligible for the 2009 college football season.

Skolnitsky ordered a supplement online that contained the banned substance and began taking it seven to 10 days before the random test, Matthews said. Matthews and his staff were unaware that Skolnitsky had been taking it, and are withholding the name of the supplement because of privacy concerns.

Skolnitsky is a local product--he grew up in Fairfax, Va.--who hopes to earn a roster spot with the Redskins in 2009 preseason. He played college football at James Madison, where he logged 61 tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery as a senior.

How Acquired: Signed with the Redskins as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 6, 2009
