With the MEAC no longer participating playoffs, that dropped the # of AQ back to 10, which means could drop the # of At Large back to 10 and go back to a 20 team playoff. A 20 team playoff this year would have meant this years last 4 at large didn't get in. Well, this is how they fared:
-Fordham was embarrassed by UTC 50-20.
-EIU was embarrassed by UNI 53-17.
-UNH was upset by Colgate 27-20.
-WIU against non acholly Dayton only led 10-7 at the half...
Awesome, FCS Circle of Death chart, only 1 survivor in the end.
A lot higher chance of dying early on the right hand side of the bracket. I can't believe the NCAA put together something THAT unbalanced in terms of difficulty of getting to the championship game.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star? Deep Purple: No One Came
20 team field 2010-2012. Top 5 were seeded. Top 12 got opening round byes. 13-20 played in the 4 opening round games, with the 4 winners paired with the top 4 seeds. #5-12 were paired regionally, so those 8 teams all had byes but knew their opponents for 2 weeks. If they had done that this year, the field would have been the current 24- EIU, Fordham, UNH, & WIU). Stipulation that no conference rematches 1st round or pre determined (between 5-12) 2nd round. 1st round
