I got a chuckle out of that one too.

Some big wins though - something called Fairleigh Dickinson, Texas Southern, The Citadel, Wagner, Dartmouth....

:notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

We call them "Fairly Ridiculous" on the east coast.

I noticed you had nothing to say with Villanova's big win over Maryland in the double secret scrimmage. ;)

Belmont is not better than CSU.

Also, but "just" do you mean 3 days ago?

UNI is currently up by 14 at half on a SFA team that returns 4 starters from last years 30+ win NCAA tournament team

That same juggernaut that lost their opener by more than 40 points?

I know who Belmont is. I also know that just being 11-5 last year in the mighty OVC may not qualify for "legit" status. "Legit" what? Are they on the Big East's radar for expansion now?

Legit as in they are a top 100 team. Currently ranked 89th by kenpom.

As for Col St., they are 87th, so right around the same as Belmont.

As for today, Nova smacked Nebraska.
Creighton destroyed Texas - SA
Xavier beat Missouri
Depaul lost to Penn State
Georgetown played #3 Maryland tough, losing by 4.

Go ahead and keep making fun of the Big East while teams like UVA from the ACC lose to the likes of GW and Wisconsin loses also. I guess the Big 10 and ACC suck now also. :coffee:

Unfortunately for the Big East, I'll likely get to get using it year after year. Such is the new normal for the diminished Big East.

On the bright side, Jalen Brunson is just a flat out stud. He's the type of player that nova has been missing these past few years, relying on players like Arcidiacono who can put up numbers in the weak Big East but then get swallowed up when things ratchet up in the tourney. I see Brunson being the type of player who can elevate his game in the tourney, something nova has been desperate for.

Brunson is very good, you are correct. But, you have a short memory. Arci as a freshman played great in wins against Louisville ( Russ Smith/ Silva), Syracuse(Carter-Wiliams/Triche) and Georgetown at the Wells Fargo Center when they were all top ten teams. Arci is very good too. Don't blame you for trashing him based on last year's egg that he laid against NC State but you need to be fair.

I think Arcidiacono is a fine support player, but I think he struggles when he has to be the scorer and when he has to be the one who creates for nova. Sure he got abused in that NC State game, but that just pointed out the flaw that's there. With Brunson, Arcidiacono is free to float and free to find that place to set up and shoot. He's like a modern day John Paxson - surely useful, key even at times, but has to rely on someone else to start the action. Especially late in games or in big moments, Brunson's going to be the guy doing that for nova and they are certainly better because of it.

GF: Arci is a fine support player and it's ridiculous that John Robertson is pursuing an NF L career? You kill me. :D

Big East player of the year and Walter Payton winner. You have zero credibility left.

Hey, the Big East is just a shadow of what it once was. If you want to see the modern day Big East you need to be watching ACC basketball. And you can't tell me that nova wouldn't have jumped at a chance to follow all those teams there and that they're happy being where they are instead.

And yes, John Robertson had no chance at doing anything in the NFL other than being a practice squad player. Zero chance to ever be a regular NFL starter. I know that hurts your feelings but there's little I can do about that - you still think the Big East is just as good as it was years ago. I really have no ability to reach the truly delusional. Don't worry, though, Brunson's going to take care of Arcidiacono this year so that hopefully, when he plays the big boy teams outside of the Big East, he can contribute again. Have faith in Brunson! :thumb:

Omg. And you refer to me as delusional. Stop. Please. My stomach is hurting.

No, no on second thought keep trying to convince yourself that Arci is a "fine support player" and Robertson is ridiculous to attempt to become an NF L millionaire after lighting up the FCS for three and a half years. This should be Fun.

So this is the second time in a week that you decided to talk out of your ass. Arci is a fine support player? You do realize he won the co-big east player of the year award last year. Who's the other player he won it with? Oh right, future nba player, Kris Dunn. I guess dunn is just a fine support player as well.

Then there's the fact that apparently you either a) don't watch nova games, or b) don't understand basketball. Arci doesn't need to put up monster stats because he is the facilitator and leader of the Nova offense. Nova O rank last year? 4th. He is the primary PG, so it is up to him to control the flow and he does it beautifully. A fine support player does not do that.

And finally, again, your argument he puts up stats in a weak Big East is flawed since, again, the Big East was one of the best conferences last year (3rd behind ACC and Big12). And guess who ranks first right now in conference rpi?

Now it makes sense why you can't reach the truly delusional.
