I'd buy tickets now for the 2013 ND-Army game. That would be awesome. The old Yankee Stadium hosted some of college football's greatest moments. The new Yankee Stadium might also host college football -- and the Fighting Irish are interested in writing the first chapter in its gridiron history, the school's athletic director said, according to The New York Times.
While stressing that no dates have been discussed, Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick said the Yankees are open to college football at the new stadium. The school has been in touch with the Yankees to express its interest in being one of the first two teams to play there, according to the report.
"We've been in contact with Yankee Stadium and asked and inquired," Swarbrick said, according to the Times. "We will be discussing games with them, but we haven't entered into any substantive discussions."

Re: College Football at the New Yankee Stadium?
I can see it now... "Joe Montana Jr. back to pass... fires downfield... he's got "lightning" Ismael wide open! What's this!?!? the ball is flying out to right field and it lands in the stands!!! all he did was toss the pass up there and it got caught in the jet stream and flew in to the bullpen area! wow is Notre Dames coach mad! I've never seen Skip Holtz this angry... the officials are on the sidelines talking to Army head coach Bill Bellichick and they are going to call this a Notre Dame touchdown!!! Wow is Bellichick angry! boy he sure is taking this 'community service' sentence assignment seriously! we figured after he was convicted of fixing superbowl 42 last year he'd just phone this in... but with Army at 7-0 and on track for a BCS bid... he's pulling out all the stops, even against 2-5 Notre Dame..."danefan wrote:http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4191694

What's the prob, Willie? There's a proud tradition of football in Yankee Stadium, including the Giants and the old Yankee football team.Willie wrote:I don't like the idea, not one bit really.

Some great FB games were played at Yankee stadium. The Giants used it for years as well as Notre Dame, Army, NYU and Fordham.Willie wrote:I don't like the idea, not one bit really.
Nobody had a problem with FB at real Yankee stadium, why should thay have an issue with the reproduction.
