Crazy Wrestling Inteview

Post by SuperHornet »

I just saw the most non sequitur-iest non sequitur in the history of professional wrestling on tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite (which I'm DVRing and only watched the first half hour or so before saving the rest for tomorrow morning as I get ready for the gym). The Remarkable Renee Paquette, backstage interviewer par exellence, was interviewing a recently formed trios tag team consisting of that egomaniac Lionheart Chris Jericho (who also calls himself The Ocho due to his 8 world championships across several wrestling outfits), FTW Champion Hook (the son of Taz, a Dynamite color commentator who originated the outlaw FTW Championship, which stands for [Bleep] the World), and recently-signed Katsuyori Shibata, who (according to the storyline, anyway) can't speak English, so he communicates via a cell phone translation app. Jericho proceeds to dictate how their upcoming match against Shane Taylor Productions (another trios tag team), and Hook and Shibata agree to it. Jericho walks off, and there's this little conversation between those left on camera:

Shibata (through app to Hook): What's up with him? (Or something like that.)

Hook: Trust me. (Walks off.)

Shibata (through app to Paquette): You have a nice necklace.

Where do they get these people?
