Unless we have Tim Donaghy 2.0, the champs will be crowned Kings...who I hope trade up for the #1 pick in the draft and take Caitlin Clark, just to stick it to the rest of the League....

No worries, the NBA said they got it wrong, missed two fouls and at least one timeout call. They said "our bad". It's all good now. :coffee:

I'm not a big NBA fan but I saw a replay from that game and my reaction was "holy cow, he got hammered!"

Watching the Blazer games this season, there were many times I wanted to get hammered. :D

Wolves are better than many thought. Lost to Denver last year with McDaniels and Reid out. Phoenix is a good team, just ran into a buzz saw. Still have to win one more to advance.

The NBA is getting exciting again with the old-guard falling to the up and coming. Era of Lebron is ending.

Nuggets finish off Lakers. National media starting a lovefest with Ant. Shows they haven't been watching the Wolves the last few years. Looking forward to the Wolves Nuggets series. Regular season 2-2, but the playoffs will be different with both teams relatively healthy. Denver won last year as the Wolves has 2 key players out with injury.

Wolves down Denver in game 1, behind 43 points from Ant. Time to quit thinking the Rudy Gobert trade was a flop. National media hasn't watched the Wolves until the playoffs.

I mentioned to a friend of mine after the Nuggets/Lakers series that Denver can't keep getting down by double-digits against Minnesota as the Wolves are a much better team that the Lakers and it is showing. The lack of focus the Nuggets have had so far in both the Laker series and this one should be alarming for any Nugget fan. The Nuggets are up against it now, needing to win 4 of the next 5. The Wolves have all the confidence and the Nuggets are reeling.

Repeating as a champ (year after year) in the NBA isn't as easy as folks would think. Golden State, for all their dominance, only repeated as champs once. The Miami super team with Lebron did it once. Those great Spurs teams with Tim Duncan never repeated as champs (although they would've if they didn't choke against Miami that one year). Kobe's Lakers did it, the Kobe/Shaq Lakers did it, the Jordan Bulls team certainly did, but those teams had guys that are likely top 10 players all time in the NBA. I like Jokic, but he's not a top 10 all timer. Edwards is still a pup so who knows how good he'll be career-wise, but he's certainly off to a good start.

Nuggets need to keep getting down by double digits. It worked against the Lakers, but the better teams won't let you come back.

This series is a total reversal for me, as someone who doesn't have a team in the mix. I thought the Nuggets would be the one that showed more poise, and the Wolves would be the ones that would get rattled. It clearly has been the other way. The Nuggets need to jump on the Wolves early, otherwise this series will be over in a hurry. Wolves are impressive.

The Wolves have taken on Ant's mentality. What is his mentality? Well, to use his own words:

“I just want to kill everything in front of me. That's the main thing, pretty much. That's all there is to it.”

Wolves can't fool around. They need to take care of business.

2014 Portland played Houston. No one gave the Blazers any chance as there was some talk about that Houston team contending for the title. Blazers took the first two games in Houston behind Aldridge's 40+ games. Houston took Game 3 in Portland then the Blazers got Game 4. We all felt pretty comfortable, even after the Rockets got Game 5 in Houston. Then in a tie game in Game 6 (a game we all thought we had won) with less than a second remaining, the Rockets took the lead, 98-96. We thought we were going back to Houston for Game 7, something that we felt would be a tall order.

Then this happened that saved all of us.

Wolves won't want to let all this go away and try to get another win in Denver. They need to take care of business right away.

Experience is finally showing this round. Wolves, OKC, even in the East, the youth movement is hitting a wall. It is not that the youth are not good enough, but there are other factors that show the difference between the regular season and the playoffs. Most teams would have been rattled losing the first two at home, but the Nuggets stayed true to what has worked for them in the past, while it seemed the Wolves tried to go through the motions in Game 3 and then tried to recover in Game 4. I think the Wolves get Game 6 (look for a role player to have a big game, like maybe Kyle Anderson) then the Nuggets win big in Game 7.
