Either be generationally great or biblically bad

If you're stuck in the middle you're dead

It's where the Vikings, Twins, and Wild have been in the state of Minnesota and it's why they never truly get better. If you aren't generationally great no one cares about you beyond the core fans. If you aren't bottoming out and being biblically bad you can't really improve through draft picks and it makes rebuilds harder. The Vikings have only had something like 9 top 10 picks since the modern draft became a thing - 1970.

Almost always between 13-25. That's dead man's land in drafts. It means you aren't getting the high end draft talent but it also means you aren't winning anything of note.

Big game in Beantown. Can the Wolves takedown the Celtics as the 2nd game of a back to back? Going to be a tough game.

They are scheduled to land less than 7 hours before tip due to weather delays in travel.

I'm sure that won't be an extra impact on the second night of a back-to-back

Wolves had 2 starters out and lost in OT. Fun game, but the leprechauns in the rafters were tough to beat.

Wolves led by 9 with 3:25 left
Celtics finished regulation on a 14-5 to force OT

MIN led by 2 with 1:33 left in OT
BOS finished OT on a 9-0 run

Celtics 127 Wolves 120.

For a back half of a back-to-back - Orlando to Boston (and the fact the NBA thinks that is a good back-to-back is kind of laughable. Just like how the NHL thinks Minnesota and Dallas the the same) - with 2 starters out, flight/weather issues, landing less than 7 hours before tip, etc. that was almost as great as it could have gone with legs like they had to have had.

Nice win by Wolves, 2 games at Portland before the break.

Big thing the Wolves need/needed to figure out is 4th quarter collapses and what to do without Conley out there.

The trade for Morris, super early of course, seems to be a large part of fixing that. Lowest TO rate in NBA history at under 1 per game. Just a calming presence to control the ball and facilitate the offense to prevent the hero ball that has plagued second halves/4th quarters.

First game with Monte and the second half was complete domination on the road.

Also been linked with Marcus Morris if/when he is waived in San Antonio, as they have 2 open roster spots right now due to the contract situation with people like Garza and crew.

I'm not sure how I feel about that, but he's a 42% 3 point shooting experienced big, and the system that Connley/Finch want is to go big on big on big. Having KAT and Morris being able to flex inside/outside with Rudy inside would be good.

Finch also doesn't usually go more than 8-9 deep so not sure how many minutes Marcus Morris would get but the 10 man rotation set up would be

Conley
Edwards
McDaniels
Towns
Gobert

Monte
NAW
Morris
Anderson
Reid

and Marcus could eat up some SloMo minutes, which wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Essentially the Wolves will have swapped Shake Milton and Troy Brown with Monte and Marcus Morris. That's a pretty big W for the Wolves I think. Lots of playoff experience and bankable production added.

I had heard from early on the Wolves would focus on the waiver/buy out market over the trade market. Clearing roster space with one trade and getting someone like Marcus Morris in the waiver market would be solid in-season roster management.

I'll set aside my dislike of Marcus Morris for a few months if he can help the Wolves win.

Listened to some ESPN guys on the radio yesterday. 4 of them picked the top 4 teams in the NBA. They were mentioned but the Wolves didn't make the top 4. Probably good to stay under the radar to finish the season. They keep talking about how the Rudy trade didn't work last year but fail to realize KAT played less than 30 games, Jaden and Naz were hurt for the playoffs, and Denver said Minnesota was their toughest round. It take some time for players to mesh. They have more of a team focus with stars that are great but not elite.

Watched a segment where they had the wolves as the "worst 1 seed at the break in history" and they'd probably get swept by any of the teams in the play-in range.
