Just another nod to Secretariat. A horse named Arcangelo won the Belmont Stakes in a time of 2 minutes, 29.23 seconds today.
Secretariat ran it in 2 minutes, 24.00 seconds in 1973. 5.23 seconds faster than today's winner. 50 years ago. He'd have beaten today's Belmont Stakes field as badly as he beat the one in 1973. Secretariat still holds the records for all three Triple Crown races. Just amazing.
