I have no problem with the Saints trying to get their guy a TD at the end of the game. The issue is that they did it out of the victory formation which defenses interpret as you're about to take a knee to end the game so they weren't ready. So it was a trick play (even worse than a fake FG) to run up the score.

Going forward, why should any team trust Jameis when he's in victory formation? They can't trust that he'll take a knee so they're free to tee off on him.

If it's ok for the offense to ignore the meaning of the victory format in order to help a teammate get something then it's ok for the defense to do the same.

Roger Goodell has ruined football with his stupid rule changes. What would YOU guys say about changing everything back and THEN improving safety by reverting to one-platoon football? Can you imagine a quarterback head-hunting a receiver while playing defense? NOT going to happen. You get guys playing both ways again, the safety factor will even out....

Tom Brady was talking about the rules changes on the Stephen A.Smith podcast last year and nobody benefitted from the rules changes more than him in the current era of the NFL.I always say this if he was in the '80s vs Lawrence Taylor or Bruce Smith he would never entertain the thought of playing in his '40s.
