Good for him but it also means less money for free agents (24% of the salary cap). More proof that KAaron prioritizes money over winning Super Bowls.Huge difference between him and Brady.
20-25% has become the standard for QB's

I think that'd be a good move for JG and NO. He'd develop a lot better under NO's coach, IMHO.
Dennis Allen? Sean Payton isn't in NO anymore.

If you are never realistically going to get there, might as well take the money.

Also watching them win 13 games is better than watching them play like the Detroit Lions.

Even if Rodgers doesn't win another SB, anyone would gladly take him, and his salary, and like Gil said win 13 games a year and get home playoff games. That's better than 98% of the rest of the NFL every year.

He's kind of like what Andy Reid was with the Eagles.

I'll leave that job to my sister's fiance. I'll just suffer with bad owners for my two favorite NFL teams (Cowboys and Raiders)....

Commander Wentz!

He's back in the NFC East, ready to beat Philly twice a year.

That's impossible, he'll be hurt for at least one of the games each year. Plus, divisional games tend to be later in the year and that's when he starts to choke. Odd, given that he's from North Dakota, that he'd have problems once it gets cold, but he did play in a dome in college.

Unfortunately neither he nor the Commanders are any good. McNabb 2.0

At least they didn't give up too much for him. A couple third rounders... :coffee:

Will he beat out Heinicke? We all know how Wentz feels about competition and having to earn your spot.

Green Bay is using the Franchise tag for now on Davante Adams, and possibly remove it after a restructured extension.

Still, they might have to do it without several veterans. A source said outside linebacker Za'Darius Smith believes he will be released. Smith, who played only 18 snaps last regular season, has the second-largest cap number on the team ($28.1 million), and the Packers would gain $15.75 million in cap space by cutting him.

Cobb ($6.8 million in cap space if they released him now or $8.25 million if they released him after June 1), offensive lineman Billy Turner ($3.142 million in cap savings now or $5.812 post-June 1), tight end Marcedes Lewis ($2.95 million in cap savings or $4 million post-June 1), and kicker Mason Crosby ($2.9 million or $3.4 million after June 1) would offer the most cap savings.

They might not have to release them all, and they also could restructure several of their deals. Veterans likely not in danger of being released -- such as outside linebacker Preston Smith and safety Adrian Amos -- also could be candidates for restructures. Then there’s cornerback Jaire Alexander, who is currently scheduled to play on his fifth-year option of $13.294 million but will almost certainly sign an extension that would lower his cap number before the start of the season.

Wentz ain't the guy to take the Redskins to the show, but they likely need a quasi-frontline guy to hold down the fort while the guy they draft matures. They're not likely to get a rookie (read: Willis) able to start immediately. (Heck, as much as I love Willis, I wouldn't start HIM immediately, either....)

It fits: The Carolina Panthers have hired MT State LBer Jody Owens as an offensive assistant. Owens had spent the last two years as co-defensive coordinator and LBers coach at D-II Pittsburg State. He's also coached in Bozo, a GA at Nevada, Washington as LBers Coach, and DC at NAIA Briar Cliff (IA). He was Big Sky D-POY in 2012 and a consensus All-American.
