In the Toronto game, former Sac State QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson led the Agonauts to victory with a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion in overtime to win a game marred by a monsoon. Apparently, the CFL is running a modification of the NCAA OT, starting at the 35. MBT opened the OT with a 7-yard deflected pass to himself. A few plays later, an MBT pass drew a 20-yard PI call, placing the ball at the one (I guess the CFL calls PI a straight 20-yard penalty, not a spot foul.) Another QB came in and got the sneak for the TD, then MBT came back in with a pass for the 2. BC answered with a TD, but their 2-pt failed.

In the Calgary game, former EWU QB Bo Levi Mitchell became the 18th CFL player to eclipse 30K passing yards. He was 22 of 29 for 242. Former Sac State LBer Darnell Sankey had two tackles for Calgary.

If your teams have any guys involved in the CFL, let me know who they are and I'll look out for them.

Former Montana State quarterback Dakota Prukop plays for the Edmonton Elks (formerly the Edmonton Eskimos). Their roster says he played for Oregon but he played only played for the Ducks for one year (played for the Bobcats for three years before transferring).

Former EWU quarterback Vernon Adams is on Montreal. Their roster has him as being from Oregon but like Prukop, he only played for the Ducks for one year after transferring from EWU.

During the last week of the season, Jake Meier relieved an ineffective Bo Levi Mitchell (EWU) to lead Calgary to 13 fourth quarter points to shockingly beat West Division-leading Winnipeg. LBer Darnell Sankey (Sac) led the way defensively for Calgary with 8 tackles.

East Division Champion Toronto QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson (Sac) sat out the last game of the season, probably under the same strategy many NFL teams employ at the end of the season to protect the starter for the playoffs; he was listed as the #3 for the finale and did not play. This likely led to their loss to the bottom-feeding Edmonton Elks (nee Eskimos).

Edmonton QB Dakota Prukop (MT State) was listed as the backup against Toronto and did not play.

Former FCS players on the CFL All-Star Teams:

CFL East Division All-Star Team:

QB - McLeod Bethel-Thompson, Toronto (Sacramento State)
WR - Jake Wieneke, Montreal (South Dakota State)
WR - Jaelon Acklin, Hamilton (Western Illinois)
DB - Chris Edwards, Toronto (Idaho)
WR (Special Teams) - DeVonte Dedmon, Ottawa (William & Mary)

CFL West Division All-Star Team:

DL - Willie Jefferson, Winnipeg (Stephen F. Austin)
LB - Darnell Sankey, Calgary (Sacramento State)
DB - T.J. Lee, British Columbia (Eastern Washington)

There were other US-based players to make the All-Star Teams, including FBS and D-II and below, but these were the FCS crew. I'm surprised that more made it for the East Division. In any event, congratulations to these guys.

The Calgary Stampeders recently posted their 75 best players in their 75-year history. Bo Levi Mitchell is #4. Doug Flutie is the only quarterback ahead of him....

Surprised Dave Dickenson isn't this high on their list....
