I just watched the Bengals edge the Titans. I don't watch many NFL games but I watched that one because of the Joe Burrow and Ja'marr Chase LSU connection. But I came away totally impressed with another player on the team. The placekicker. It pays to have an outstanding placekicker. I mean, when that guy kicked field goals it was no doubt money.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

The TEN OC blew the game, and the CIN OC almost did, both late in the game. Titans: brought the ball clear back to a stock-still RB 10 yards behind the line on 4th and 1, then wondered why he got stuffed. Sneak would have been the proper call. CIN: Either took one of nine sacks or threw a pick (I forget which) on a 3rd and 3; they should have run the triple option.

Why do modern OCs flunk Football 101 so much? SMH....

The 9 or 10 scoreless possessions didn’t have anything to do with it?

Good defense by the 49ers too. If Rodgers leaves, they will be battling the Lions for last place, if they can.

Even with those, absent the two blocked kicks the pack wins that game 13-3.

Another fun season watching the Packers. Came up a bit short. Last 3 times they went to the super bowl, they had a defensive stud, Reggie White or Charles Woodson. If they keep Rodgers, they need that defensive stud to get to the next level.

Also, if SF had just not sent their special teams on the field at all, GB would have won by even more

True. That happened once in the North Dakota/North Dakota State game. With about 5 minutes left in the half, a plane went over and broke the sound barrier. The UND team thought it was the gun to end the 2nd quarter, so they all ran to the locker room. 7 plays later NDSU scored.

No Titans
No Packers
No Bucs

No Aaron Rodgers
No Tom Brady

These playoffs might just become watchable.

Then the Bucs defense threw the beer back in his face.

Seriously, though, Antoine Winfield, Jr., looks more like a fullback than a DB. :?

Dilemma: Would love to see Stafford earn a ring.
But don't want to see Rams' owner Kroenke get one. He's a certified POS.

Hmmm. What do I root for?

Easily the greatest weekend of NFL playoff history. Don't think that will ever be topped. All four games end in walk-off.

Turned on the Brady vs Rams game early 2nd quarter, 1st NFL game I’d watched all year, and see at RT for Tampa #72 Josh Wells, 10th yr UDFA career journeyman backup out of JMU. A 6’5” 225 lb QB in HS, came to JMU as a walkon TE. Gained weight and got moved to DT, gained more weight and got moved to OT. Tampa’s starting RT must have gotten hurt. And Wells looked like a career backup..

After the game read this:
His seemingly bulletproof offensive line that played 1,769 snaps together since his arrival suffered not one, but two colossal blows last week. All-Pro right tackle Tristan Wirfs suffered a right high ankle sprain and couldn't play, while Pro Bowl center Ryan Jensen suffered a left ankle sprain and wasn't close to full strength.

Then Wirfs' backup, Josh Wells, suffered a right ankle injury during the game, forcing backup guard Nick Leverett to step in, although Wells returned.

“I’ve got to give Josh Wells a lot of credit,” Arians said. “He was playing on a really bad leg.”
https://africa.espn.com/blog/tampa-bay- ... atform=amp

Last time I saw Tampa play, last year’s Super Bowl, they had starting at RG, Aaron Stinnie, 4th yr former UDFA from JMU, a backup OG for the Bucs.

Yeah, I know, cool story bro.

I'll still be watching the Pack. Have been since 1967 and the 31 year drought between super bowls.

Hardly any playoff talk. Media has been all Tom Brady this weekend.

Would be nice to see someone different from the AFC, so go Bengals. It would be nice to see Trey Lance get a ring, whether he plays or not.

Bad play call there with 5 ticks left in the first half. There's not enough room at that spot on the field to throw the ball, particularly with a bi-level route that's most likely to get someone open. It was easy for CIN to catch Hill, who caught the ball behind the line. Should have lined up in a tight I and ran the triple option. Either Mahomes or his pitch man would have been in easy....
