You're assuming the Astros won't make the playoffs?
Did you catch Gerrit Cole's post-game interview? When asked how the Astros felt, he said, "I am not an employee of this team. I can speak for myself, though."
Later, he was seen wearing a Scott Boras baseball cap. I guess it was too soon for the NY cap.

He did botch it. His tag line is "Remember where you are, so you'll remember where you were." That's not what he called. Problem is, he's used it a bunch... Scherzer's no-no, his 20 K game, I think Stras debut, Werth walk-off, etc... How the hell am I supposed to remember all those?
Holy crap. Was that what he was supposed to say? That's not what he said. He said "are" at the end instead of "were".
That makes a little more sense than what was said.
Still, it's a line that should be reserved for events that result in more extreme circumstances.
Cubs and Red Sox breaking long droughts for example. A way more improbable upset or meaningful outcome like the US Hockey win over Russia in 1980. If the Lions or Browns win a Super Bowl, it would be appropriate to use it there.

Yeah, I'm not sure I've seen a player leave a team so quickly. Fuck Boras. Reminds me of the scene in Jerry Maguire when Glen Frey tells Cruise he's been running up the prices for so long, time for him to spend some time at the back of the line. I hope Boras gets hit by a truck.

First WS win for DC since 1924 an that's not a long drought?

Boras has become pretty predictable. He knows Cole and the Yankees need each other. He knows Cole grew up wanting to play for the Yankees. But he gives this head-fake all year that Cole "just wants to play near his home" and is "willing to take less money to be close to home."
Check the record and see if a Boras client EVER took "less money" just so he could play "close to home." Cole is going to the team that shows him the most love, measured in dollars.
God bless him. I hope Boras soaks Prince Hal and Prince Hank so badly that Cole winds up with a piece of the YES network!

There was no team to root for during most of that time. Where's the long suffering Nats fans?
And as far as DC and the surrounding areas go, it has one of the fewest percentage of homegrown natives compared to most major cities. You just can't compare DC sports fans with Chicago or Boston fans, or Cleveland and Detroit fans. There are generational ties to the franchises there.
So what’s the under on the Nats’ parade crowd tomorrow?
For all the Joe Buck hoopla about Washington’s strong regular season finish, the team’s average home attendance was 27,898. The fourth-place Phillies drew 33,671.

A few years back Carlos told Boras to take less money because he wanted to stay in Denver. I do not know. If any other instance though.
If someone bet $100 on Nats when they were 19-31 , wonder how much they would have made.

You need to look up the definitions of "most" and "drought". Not my fault nobody moves to those cities... they must really suck.

That was a great swing by Kendrick. Nice pitcher's pitch at the knees and on the outside corner. As homers go, it was a cheapie, but as my old baseball coach use to say, "a cheap run counts as much as a run."
Cheapies a plenty in Houston. What a joke of a ballpark.
Every ball park in baseball needs to add 70 feet to their shitty little stadiums except San Diego and St Louis. Especially Yankee stadium where you can throw a ball out down right field line

Surprised at how small the Nats parade is, on a Saturday with perfect weather. Said same thing after the Caps parade. They just don't turn out like Philly, Boston, or Chicago fans. Now those were parades.
