Does the time a item is signed affect the value? For example lets say an older baseball player signs a bat or ball from a particularly important game, would that item be worth more or less if they had signed it at the game? Or doesn't it matter?

There are players whose autograph changes over time. So earlier autographs would be worth more on an event item. Especially if the player signed an item when they were older and had a shakey signature. If nothing changes in an auto, it can be difficult to know when it was signed, except if it was pre-sharpie, or pre-ball point era. Lot of moving parts, but older and condition are the big factors.

No all sports related, but autograph related. Bought a box of 50 autographs at the Mt Dora antique extravaganza for $25. Just sent 20 to PSA DNA for authentication. Names like Bobby Jones (golfer), Al Jolson, Michael Caine, Clarence Thomas, General Westmoreland, Gary Player, OJ Simpson, Robert Stack. Pretty sure most will pass, my biggest concern is Bobby Jones, is it real or secretarial. Something to look forward to receiving in the new year.

One the wall? Not concerned with degradation from light?

It's on the wall next to the window, so hopefully it is getting the least amount of direct sunlight, while I'm still able to enjoy viewing it daily. Anything I have for sale is out of the sun.

Right now I have the Paige piece, a 2015 Bison team signed poster, artist signed Ebbets Field poster with a piece of a brick from the stadium, a NDSU shield my late brother made in shop class, a 12" Nesbitt Orange Soda advertising button that hung in our shop at the farm while growing up, and a pool ball case from my home town pool hall displaying some of my dad's toy tractor collection. Thats my eclectic collection.

I have had signatures on baseballs fade from indoor lighting. Fluorescent lighting being the most damaging.

I see that a lot. I'll probably sell it sometime after I retire, the sports stuff will be extra income. Hopefully before it fades.

Disgusting that guys as "new" as James, Doncic, Trout, and Mahomes could even make that list....
