He is actually in 2nd 2:52 back of Froome and :17 ahead of Quintana.

Tour is basically over now that Froome made the move yesterday to get the huge lead. Nobody comes back from that outside of injury or something stupid happening.

Why in the hell were fans allowed to get that close? :suspicious:

We're allowed to get close in the Tour de California, but I've never seen anyone get that stupid....

40 second mark check out the overhead view of the massive pileup. Apparently several top riders seriously injured. That woman should be shot. And why there should be at least a 10-15 foot buffer, probably more, that fans can‘t enter.

I’d put at least half the blame on the race organizers for not having barriers to keep the fans back. Look at the pic. No barriers to hold the fans back. That‘s just dumb.

Eh, they've been that close for years, mostly with no issues. Isn't the first time there's been a problem but they've done it forever like that. Cool watching the mountain stages and the guy's biking in a 5-6 ft space between fans on both sides.

 Them Euros love to crowd the road for all kinds of races.
