This time it's RG3 taking home RoY honors. What a joke. He is the last QB I want from this crop of RoY contenders.
Sorry SE, had to beat you to the punch on this one. And it's a crying shame. Luck < Wilson > RG3

Is Kaper whatever from San Fransisco a rookie? I don't even remember right now. If so he's the one I'd be looking at as the most successful rookie quarterback. That sucker's a dominant player.

No, he's a 2nd year guy. And I'd still rather have Wilson. Better arm and intangibles. Guy is absolutely brilliant as a football mind. Learned 3 different offenses in the last 3 years and mastered them all very, very quickly.

Meh. I don't really have a problem with RG3 winning it as he was the most consistent over the entire year and had some pretty incredible numbers, but I do have a problem with him winning it in a landslide like he did. No way it should have been that lopsided. They should also hold off voting until at least a week before the awards if the top rookies are still playing. Russell was undoubtedly playing the best the last 5 weeks of the year and into the playoffs.
The DROY was a bigger farce, as Kuechly (sp) didn't have much help around him, whereas Wagner had a lot of help and put up very similar numbers. No way it should have been a landslide as it was.
Kuechly: 164 tackles, 1 sack, 8 PBUs, 2 INTs
Wagner: 140 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 PBUs, 3 INTs (had a 4th nullified by an ET penalty)

The awards are only for the regular season, I thought.

They are, but voting takes place week 16. They
should be for the entire season, playoffs included if they play themselves into them.

Let's say that a rookie gets onto a good team that makes the playoffs, has a good season but it really is "overplayed" because his teams success.
Another rookie gets thrown on a shit team and has a GREAT season but misses the playoffs.
Rookie #1 gets to play 2 or 3 more games and be fresh in peoples minds, even if rookie 2 is more deserving he'll get fucked....
out of sight, out of mind.

Did rookie #2 have a GREAT season only because his team was on an average team, and was rookie #1's season only GOOD because he was on a GREAT team? I don't think the number of games or the strength of the team as a whole should influence the decision at all. Look at the numbers as a complete body of work and how the specific rookie impacted his team.

When everyone overlooked him because of his height, thus resulting in the loss of millions of dollars by being drafted in the 3rd round instead of the 1st.

He and Kaepernick are in the same boat, there.
I'm sure you read the ESPN story on them.

I was listening to the radio and the only person to mentioned Kuechly winning DROY was ESPN'S Mike Golic inspite of the fact he was a ex-NFL Defender.Everyone else mentioned RG3!!!!

Not really. I guess you could consider Kaep "overlooked" at the top of the 2nd round, but it certainly wasn't because of his height or athletic ability; it was his because of his decision making and accuracy. The only thing that kept Russ from getting drafted in the top 5 was his height. Kaep also got a fair amount more than Russ did since he was drafted at the top of the 2nd, not mid 3rd. Which ESPN story, there's been a lot?
