Yeah no doubt this should do wonders for Weber St in terms of recruiting as well as The Big Sky Conference.

Yeah, I mean look at how the Grizzlies leveraged MRR's performance and exposure into great recruiting and years of dominance....

Wait. What?

Oh, never mind.

Hey, I'm not laughing. But it's a fact that the UM hasn't done the best job of capitalizing on the few players it's managed to put into the NBA.

Lillard is a good kid. It was scary when our GM, Olshey, came out on draft day and announced that he was going to be out PG of the future. I was hoping he'd be as good as Stuckey but now I think the sky is the limit for this guy. One thing he has going for him is that, with our mess, he was going to be starting right out the gate. That and the idea that he is a PG and will always have the ball in his hands gives him the opportunity to initiate the play. He knows how to shoot and when to shoot, but he also has exhibited an ability to know how to pass and when to pass. College ball does a great job developing SG, SF, and PF position but they lack developing the PG and the C (most college kids graduate not knowing how to pass and how to bang down low). Lillard has shown strong attributes for the PG at the NBA level. He stays within the game and doesn't try to make it bigger that it really is. Truly fun to watch. :thumb:

You just have to look harder, or be patient and wait until they realize that everyone isn't cut out for the big time

Gotta give some credit to the Weber State staff for seeing the potential and really starting his development as a pick-and-roll player

Maybe the coaches aren't as good when it comes to being a salesman as coaches from bigger leagues.

......or maybe a lot of coaches don't stay more than a few years at smaller schools.

Hold on, Geoff Petrie won it a few years later and he went to Princeton...and David Robinson went to the Naval Academy. Those schools aren't exactly Duke or Kentucky.

The most obvious one is Larry Bird from Indiana St.
Also FCS Patrick Ewing from Georgetown.

The first game of the year against the Lakers, Steve Nash broke his leg trying to guard Lillard. How may rookies can say that?

Lillard has been a pleasant surprise for the Blazers coming out of all the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Brandon Roy and Greg Oden. Lillard also is making his teammates better as well. Aldridge is an All-Star, Batum is having a phenominal year, Hickson is playing well, and Matthews is feeding off of the energy as well. In what was supposed to be a rebulding year, the Blazers have been fun to watch this year and Lillard is part of the reason why. His understanding of the game is incredible. His time at Weber State and playing against the Big Sky prepared him thoroughly for the transition to the NBA. His success, as well as that of Rodney Stuckey at Detroit, should give other Big Sky players a legitimate look at the NBA in the future.

Hey Jalmond my mother could have broke Nash ankles he is 800 yrs old!!!! It would have been more impressive if the victim was Kobe!!! It would have been the equivalent of Iverson getting the best of Jordan.

Got to the Spurs game tonight against Portland. I predicted 26 for Lillard prior to the game starting...he had that with 11:30 left in the 4th...ended up with 31 I think...Portland won in a blowout.

Lillard was a man among boys tonight. Dude is unreal.
