Yeah your right plenty of those type of those stories will pop up.CitadelGrad wrote:Most of the U.S. Olympic team hasn't been selected yet. Once the team has been identified, we will have an avalanche of heartwarming, warm-and-fuzzy, rising up from poverty, winning against all odds stories coming from the media.
As much as I hate ESPN, I was disappointed they did not win the TV rights bid. NBC does such a shitty job televising the Olympics and I think ESPN, and their various channels and online streaming site would have provided lots of outlets for viewing the events. Fortunately I have a Telemundo broadcast I get over the air and I will be interested to see how much better their coverage is than NBC's.CatMom wrote:Remember the good old days when you actually got to see the events live, no matter when they were held, and not the cookie cutter highlights we get in between the interviews and those stories?
NBC does a piss poor job of covering the Olympics.SuperHornet wrote:No media attention? NBC has been doing Olympic preview shows for the last several months.
The sad news they brought us was that Mirror Ball Champion Shawnie Johnson has retired weeks before the Olympics due to a jacked up knee....
Your avatar and siggy aren't.Vidav wrote:The Olympics are really boring.
I never said they ignored it, only that they suck in covering it. I also hate how there is no content available online. It's 2012 for fuck sakes.SuperHornet wrote:I didn't say NBC was the best, SD. Far from it. They even have the worst track coverage imaginable. But to say that they're completely ignoring the Olympics is not the truth, either.
I do what I can.SDHornet wrote:Your avatar and siggy aren't.Vidav wrote:The Olympics are really boring.
BTW check your Sac Buzz PM.SuperHornet wrote:I know you didn't say that, SD. That comment (in my original post, anyway) was directed at thread-starter dal, who DID say that.
Eight yrs ago I wrote a response about history being made in track&field to Sports Illustrated. In '04 when UCONN made history themselves by winning the men&women's basketball championships in April. But unfortunately this magazine forgot history was made on March 17th by LSU when they won both the men&women's team indoor championships in track nobody but Track&Field News gave any coverage for this event.dbackjon wrote:six weeks away

SH has such a tight close relationship with all female athletes, they even have their own cute little nick names given to them to use.clenz wrote:SH, who the fuck is Shawnie Johnson?
She was on that '96 squad in Atlanta that won the team gold medal.Didn't she make an attempt for the '00 squad as well????Wedgebuster wrote:SH has such a tight close relationship with all female athletes, they even have their own cute little nick names given to them to use.clenz wrote:SH, who the **** is Shawnie Johnson?![]()
clenz, old buddy, I think they were referring to Shawn Johnson, a tiny gymnast who is a little too old to keep up with the torturous gymnastics competition anymore but may be one of the hottest looking spinnerettes known to man today.
Was going to post pic, but one would not do-
