Besides every one of my kids games
...
Navy @ Delaware 1985 - freshman in college, beautiful day, huge crowd, big upset, crushed Napoleon McCallum's Heisman dreams.
Flyers/Rangers 1987 first round playoffs - Went with a Rangers fan from work, Flyers score in the closing seconds of the 2nd period to go up 3-2 and DEMOLISH the Rangers in the third winning 8-3 with a couple fights for good measure. Most raucous I've seen the Spectrum in person (although somebody here was at Game 6 in the finals that year, which undisputedly WAS the loudest moment in Spectrum history).
Delaware v AppSt 2007 - fantastic event other than losing.

1. Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins first race after 9/11, does reverse victory lap with American flag around Dover. I know the USA-USA thing can get tired, but this was the first race after 9/11 and the security situation was uncertain for the 140,000+ on hand. No coolers were allowed. They passed out an American flag to every fan at the gate.

2. Phillies beat Braves to win '93 NLCS.
3. Delaware ends the most dominant I-AA playoff run in history by winning 40-0 in Chatty.

1- 93, I probably ran into you there - NLCS Game 6 Phillies clinch over Braves
2- The Cal Ripken 2131 game - had 2 free tix that I could have sold for $4-5K on the way in & opted to witness history.
3- UD beating Wofford 2003 semifinal - students rush field, tear down goalpost.

Other than a couple Rays playoff games
and a hand full of Delaware playoff games, I have never attended a high profile sporting event.

1) 2005-2007 National Championship Games (If I can only pick one, it has to be 2005. We got in the club with that one.)
2) October 1995-Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards-Sparky Anderson and Lou Whittaker's last two games. (Alan Trammell should have retired at the same time as well). Pretty cool when Cal Ripken presented Trammell and Whittaker with second base signifying their status as the all time double play combination.
3) 2007 ASU vs Michigan -"Yard sale at the Big House!"

2.) 2006 PVU beats Southern for the first time in 20 some odd years
3.) 1982 LSU beats FSU to go to the Orange Bowl, my first game at Tiger Stadium and the night I fell in love with the Noles.

I want to add a 3a. I attended the USA-Canada World Cup of Hockey finals, game 1, in Philadelphia in 1996. I was pretty much in awe of the players before me on the ice and the game (4-3 OT win for Canada) was very exciting.

1. 1995 NCAA Basketball Tournament - First Round, Albany, NY (St. Patrick's Day). #14 seed Old Dominion upsets #3 seed Villanova 89-81 in Triple Overtime.

2. 1995 Football - Florida St. at Virginia. Warrick Dunn is stopped at the 1-inch line on the final play as UVA handed FSU their first ACC loss ever.

3a. 2009 Old Dominion's first football game. See MY school take the field for the first time was a longtime dream come true.
3b. 2009 Oakland A's at New York Yankees. Nothing special about the game but it was the final year of old Yankee Stadium and my boys were seeing it for the first, and last, time. As we walked through the turnstiles I remembered my feelings seeing the Yankee Stadium field for the first time in 1970. Black and white TV was still widely used at that time so when I saw the vibrant colors, it was WOW!!!! So as we walked up the ramp of the portal I took both sons by their hands. I had goose bumps up and down my body. The view of the field opened up before us with each step; the green grass, the blue walls, the white frieze, the bright colors of the advertisements, etc. We stopped at the top of the ramp to "take it all in". I asked the boys what they thought. "Looks just like it does on TV".
Damn HDTV.

07, I normally don't either (despite the fact 2 of the 3 events i listed to start the thread were pro events). But being witness to the two biggest events in Diamondbacks HISTORY kind of trumps the "pro" thing IMHO....otherwise, it would be a couple different things...bison07 wrote:2011 NC Game NDSu VS SHSU

#1 2009 playoffs. Montana beating App State in the snow and cold.
#2 2009 playoffs. Montana coming from behind to beat SDSU.
#3 Every other Griz football game I have attended.
I don't really attend other sporting events. Also you bitches putting NASCAR in your lists should remember that really isn't a sport.

Ive had some good fun at the pro games dont get me wrong, but as a fan I support my College and I could easily add 20 more to this list but the 3 I posted were just flat out kick ass.
Frisco and the whole atmosphere was just awesome, Beating Minnesota in the Metrodome and me being in the MN Donor Section on the 50 yd line 7 rows u from Timmy Brew and Co was well GREAT, and the Montana St fans taking the beatdown with absolute class and celebrating with us afterwards without ANY scuffle was awesome and alsmost is number 2 but MN is just a little sweeter
