Reports last night out of the lou that he's willing to re-structure his deal and waive his no-trade to join the cardinals

Hey Chad, on a completely un-related note, any chance I could get you to UPS me a 12 of Grain Belt?
We had our tailgate planning meeting last night, we theme our tailgates. First one is gonna be "College Days", featuring cheap beer and typical college foods like Ramen Noodles, spaghetti O's, etc etc etc.

The Reds are in quite a pickle with their managerial situation.
The GM is Walt Jockety, former St Lou GM. The master plan was to fire Dusty Baker at years end and hire Larussa/Duncan/McGwire as a package. Dusty has pretty well screwed that all up. Very hard to fire him now, especially if the make the playoffs as the wildcard.

Of course, we heard the same spin from Cardinals fans last year about the imposing pitching rotation (with the same top two guys). Didn't the Cards lose in a 3 game sweep to a Dodger team that went out quietly in the following round???? But as guess as long as there are no fly balls to left you guys should be good.

You sound a little bitter about the stomping the Cardinals just gave the Phils.

Not at all - heck, it wasn't any different than the beating the Cubs or the Pirates gave the Phils in games before that and they aren't nearly as good as the Cards all. Just pointing out that the Cards went into the playoffs last year touting a can't miss pitching rotation and were promptly swept away by an unremarkable Dodgers team. Winning in October is a different animal than winning in July.

There's only one franchise in baseball that knows more about winning in October than the Cardinals. It ain't the Phils.

Doesn't mean they can't forget. They're not putting Musial and Feller out there anymore. And again, just pointing out that the Cards are no slam dunk if they get Oswalt or not - we don't need to go back as far as you're implying just to see that.

The Cards have great pitching, probably the deepest in the NL across the board, and that's without Oswalt. The problem I see thr Cards having is their lineup. They have Pujols & Holliday, as good a 1-2 punch as there is in MLB. Other than that, it's a slippery slope.

They never put Feller out there. I'm not so sure I wouldn't rather have Pujols than Musial anyway.

Yeah, my bad, actually thought Gibson and wrote Feller. No excuse for that other than them both being Bobs.

Maybe, maybe not...
Atlanta and SD have some strong and deep staffs- which include the pens- as well.

Cards fans - What will the club offer for Oswalt? As an Astros fan, the last thing that I want is to get shut down by Oswalt (in a Cardinals uniform) for the next 2 years unless there is a decent return. It seems the Cards farm system has been depleted.
If the Cardinals get the Wizard, my money is on them to win the WS.

all rumor at this point, but what has leaked out is that 3b David Freese will be the centerpiece of the deal
Oswalt willing to "restructure" the 16M option he's owed next year to 2 years at 8M/yr

I have a REALLY hard time believing that there's a
Major League situation brewing in Cincy....

Sorry, read this the other night but haven't been around a computer to reply. Been reading from my Blackberry, and posting from that is ok but I prefer not too.
If I see some I'll send it to you. When do you need it by? I have yet to see any in Cedar Falls, but maybe I'm not looking for it so I don't see it?
