No Big Sky teams in the CBI or WBI. As far as I can tell, collegeinsider.com's The Basketball Classic (their replacement for the CIT) is defunct—there's surprisingly little concrete info one way or the other, though.

Steele Venters hit a 3-pointer with 16 seconds left to give Eastern Washington the lead for good as they upset Wazzu in Pullman 81-74. Venters had a game-high 27 points and 4 three-pointers. EWU won the boards by 10 and points-in-the-paint 36-16. The Cougs went 14/30 from three, but they only went 10/30 inside the arc.

This was the Big Sky's first NIT win since Montana State beat Utah State in 2002. Eastern will play the winner of the OK State/Youngstown game in the second round.

It looks like EWU will go to Stillwater on Sunday—OK State wasn't able to host in the first round, so their ability to host here was previously unclear. The time isn't known yet, however.

The time is known now, and the first post is updated.

NAU went down to New Mexico in the first round of the WNIT 72-64. The Lobos shot 48% and won the boards by 10. Regan Schenck really struggled in her final game, going 2/11 and committing 6 turnovers.

RaeQuan Battle went 9/17 and scored 26 points for the Bobcats, but MSU's other guards combined to go 9/27. The Bobcats shot 53% from the line (9/17), their 2nd. worst mark of the season.

Sac trails UCLA by 15 at the half, which isn't bad considering they were down 16-2 early.

Hornets just couldn't hang with the bigger and much more athletic UCLA team. I thought we should have worked it inside more as Natabou (16 pts, 10 reb) was effective early. It could have opened up some perimeter shots but UCLA had someone on Peneueta's hip all game long.

Hell of a season.
