  • Men

PSU 60-69 WSU; The Vikings won rebounding & turnovers, but they shot 30%
WEB 59-70 BSU; Weber has now lost 7 of their last 9 DI games
ycc 74-114 MSU; This was actually a 10-point game with 15:00 to go :?

    Women

NEV 62-53 SAC; Injuries continue to haunt the Hornets as only 6 players were able to go in this one
IDA 55-74 WSU; Wazzu scored 32 in the third quarter after scoring just 23 in the first half
UMT 51-58 GONZ; The Lady Griz cut a 14-point deficit down to 2 because Gonzaga didn't score over the first 7:00 of the fourth quarter
Lady Hornets had 3 players opt out of the season. Tack on injuries and thing look bleak (well they were going to look that way under Bunky anyways).

Sounds like PSU's women's team is finally going to be able to play Wednesday at Dixie State. Always good to start playing sometime (I guess).

This is a really talented team but Davidson is picking too many bad shots.

Portland State/Weber women's basketball games this weekend are cancelled due to COVID in Weber's program.

https://goviks.com/news/2020/12/15/WBB_20201215.aspx

Viks are still scheduled to play at Dixie State tonight.

The PSU/Weber's men's team is still on in Portland this weekend.

Lady Griz/Utah Valley game now cancelled because of UVU getting another positive COVID case. An earlier Utah Valley COVID case was likely transferred to SUU, which caused the SUU/Lady Griz games to be cancelled (UVU had played SUU several days earlier).

Viks actually were up 17 early in the second half, then Weber went on an 18-1 run over seven minutes to tighten the game up. Great game by James Scott, the kid from Kennesaw State by way of Temple, and Khalid Thomas, the Portland kid from Arizona State.

Viks have beaten their share of Pac-12 teams, but are now 0-15 all-time against the Beavers. Scoring 17 points in a half certainly won't get it done.

The Beavs don't look too good this year. I'll be surprised if Tinkle holds on to that job much longer.

Okay, so the Griz would lose by 25 instead of 30 like NAU. Gonzaga has played 4 top 20 teams, another decent Power 5 conference team in Auburn and were scheduled to play #2 Baylor before covid issues. Scared of the Griz they certainly aren't.

I do think the Griz have a shot at beating Gonzaga's football team even though they're undefeated since 1941.
