The idea that every school needs to have or should have athletic teams that compete with other colleges is the issue. Why should Delaware St even have a football or basketball team? What does that really do for the university in general? Clearly, the vast majority of folks at that school, like many other schools, don't ever attend or take notice of these sports teams anyway. Our obsession with sports, which does have some benefits, also has some detractions as well.

Yep. Delaware State football has been irrelevant for 30 years.

That's 20 years longer than Delaware football has been irrelevant!

Have not been relevant since JOHN TAYLOR but I had hopes for the football team since hearing about the promising young QB Tylik Bethea 6'5 210 I was hoping that they surrounded him with equal talent so they can make noise in the MEAC.
