So far
TUESDAY
San Jose State @ Creighton: 3,086
Austin Peay @ Boise State: 2,684
Hofstra @ Evansville: 1,284
James Madison @ Davidson: 989
Weber would have drawn twice, 3 times, 4 times and 5 times the amount of fans than these guys, the CBI should have let Weber have thier home game.
WEDNESDAY
Miami OH @ Rhode Island, 5 PM
St Bonaventure @ Central Florida, 6 PM
Duqesne @ Montana, 7 PM
Weber State @ Oregon, 8 PM

Dude...you guys had 3,600 for the QF again Eastern...what makes you think you could draw more for a meaningless game?

Maybe, but apparently there isn't much interest in CBI games. Regular season averages...
Davidson = 3,945
Evansville = 4,832
Creighton = 14,495

It wouldnt be meaningless, it would have been a home against Oregon and if the CBI would not have turned around and gave our promised home game to Oregon, a Game at the Dee against a team like Oregon, would draw 8,000 at least.
Our regular season attendance average was 6,006
Our lowest reg season game game was against DII Colorado Christian, and that was 3,919. (which is still higher than any of the CBI so far)
Our highest reg season game was against nationaly ranked BYU at 10,453
Our attendance for all our games this year. highest to lowest
1. BYU- 10,453
2. Northern Colorado- 7,505
3. Idaho State- 7,124
4. Eastern Washington- 6,261
5. Montana State- 6,159
6. Portland State- 5,805
7. Montana- 5,759
8. Northern Arizona- 5,310
9. Southwest- 4,697
10. Sacramento State- 4,688
11. Seattle- 4,390
12. Colorado Christian- 3,919

Still speculation.

Creighton = 14,495, San Jose State @ Creighton: 3,086
It would seem attendance for CBI games is far lower than regular season.

But you got to look at it this way, Oregon fans saw a game vs Weber State, if the game was in Ogden, Weber State fans would have seen a game vs Oregon, (a Pac10 team that never would come to the Dee), so which fanbase do you think would have been more interested?
Weber State's fanbase by far.
Creighton had SJSU, Evansville had Hofstra and Davidson had JMU, Weber would have had Oregon, big difference.

Speculation. Also, Weber is on spring break. There's no way we can settle this since it didn't happen so we'll have to agree to disagree (even though I'm not saying Weber wouldn't have drawn more, just that you can't say they definitely would have).

Pretty sure you had to pay for that home game for the CBI.
Poster over at SalukiTalk mentioned Evansville ponied up 50k for the home game, AND it wasn't even on their home court. Disney on Ice was there so they played at Southern Indiana College's court.

They would have? Weber only got 3683 for the EWU game in the quarterfinals.
I'm pretty sure season ticket holders that don't show up won't get counted for postseason games, so the numbers are likely to be lower than the regular season.

Was there really only 2830 last night in Missoula? Looked like way more on B2TV.

Weber and the CBI signed a contract and Weber laid down the money to host, and the CBI said we would for sure be hosting a first round game, only to turn around late Sunday night and give it to Oregon, an Oregon team that at the time had a 16-17 record.

See my reasoning above, Eastern Washington and Oregon are two different types of teams. Eastern Washington is a Big Sky team Weber fans see every year, Oregon is a quality program the likes of which Weber State fans hardly ever see at the Dee. The only quality teams Weber gets at the Dee anymore is Utah State and BYU.
But like 89hen said its just speculation, but I do have confidence that Weber could have brought in a great crowd. There was a lot of hype about the guaranteed home game.........that we never got.

Weber has a pretty darn nice arena and a very nice following.

Well Oregon hasn't been a quality program for several years, but anyway…
Remember that this game was scheduled on short notice. Montana had one of their smallest crowds of the season on Wednesday.

That sounds about right. The South upper deck was completely empty (including the bowled portions). The north upper was probably about 75-80%. The East upper was around 65%. Don't remember what the West upper looked like. And all of the lower levels seemed full 90-100%. So around 3K seems right.
None-the-less, the crowd was electric at times (to bad it wasn't more often, as it obviously negatively effected the Dukes play).
B2TV must have been avoiding the South upper deck as much as possible.

I guess what I should have said was Big Named school, not quality program. Hearing the name Oregon, whether they suck or not would draw, Weber cant get any Big Named schools to come to thier house.
