Around here people sure are pissed that CU didn't get in, and I can't really blame them. Buffs had a strong season, swept Kansas State, beat Texas, Mizzou.

And you let a team like UAB in over them :ohno:

people can be pissed if they'd like - but fact is... if this was the old 64-bid tournament... they wouldn't have been near it.

(my bet is next year we'll see all 4 "first four" games feature 16 seeds)

I don't see how a team can be too upset if they lost 13 times

The first first half is now in the books. UALR leads over UNC Asheville, 37-33.

Hopefully not - that would just push more mid majors down the seeding bracket. This is the perfect compromise - 3 more at large teams, but they have a play in game. They can't complain, because in the old scenario, they would not even be IN the tourney.

yeah - but when USC/VCU beats Georgetown, and all the pundits go on and on about how unfair it is that they had "momentum" heading in to the game...

(btw - has anyone noticed that ESPN is being incredibly bitchy about the tournament? something tells me losing out on the broadcast rights really got their knickers in a twist)

The field of 64 is finally set! First game at 12 nn EDT.

I have a question by the way: Last year and in years past, international fans were allowed to watch MMOD. This year, I'm rather :? on whether we can still watch MMOD internationally. Does any foreign-based CS'ers (like me) have tried watching MMOD successfully, or has Turner blocked access internationally?

Picking 8-9 teams to do anything is such folly. I forced myself to stop doing it long ago. Right off the bat you're looking at 50/50 for getting even a single point and the odds only drop from there

i get all of that - but i was playing odds of a couple things

- the ODU team I saw in the CAA tournament and regular season should have beaten Butler (they didn't show up)
- Pitt will choke. early. I still think Butler gets them next round.
- I committed to busting the shit out of the southwest regional anyway... and was left with no obvious choice for the elite 8...

Louisville is having a nightmare of a time with Faried and Morehead St...

every time i think the ville is about to stand on their throat, they let them up... not seeing a killer instinct in them (which is exactly what they showed in the Big East Tournament)
