in short for the south, If Wofford or CofC win out they win the division
if the CofC wins one more game the Citadel can't win conference, if Wofford beats Davidson then Davidson is eliminated from 1st round bye contention (basically I think CofC would have to lose the rest of their conference games)

App State has a favorable schedule and if they don't win their division that would be a disappointment

WCU needs a three-game swing on App to get the North #1 seed in the SoCon tourney due to App beating WCU twice. And they have to go to Ohio this Saturday for Bracketbusters as well. WCU has been fading while App is rising and App has the easier schedule left so it'll take a small miracle for that to happen. A swing of one more game to App clinches the North outright.

App needs Wofford to lose once more in order to control their destiny for a share of the conference title and thus, the NIT autobid.

Wednesday with Wofford @ Davidson and App St @ Charleston are two huge games in the SoCon title and bye races.

That eliminates Samford, UNCG and Elon from bye contention. UTC will have to win their final 4 conference games and WCU will have to lose its final 3 to get a bye in the tiebreaker (UTC would have the sweep of WCU in this case).

Hey, we only won there by 6. A road win is a road win, no matter how you spin it.

Wofford stomped them both times...outside of the top 5 (app, western, wofford, cofc, davidson) the conference isnt good at all

Road wins are road wins. App's 6-point at UNCG was last week. Then App beat Davidson and hung 111 on GaSo.

App's record against the "top 5" is 5-0 and against the "rest" is 5-4. Figure that one out.

It's sad to say, but the SoCon is way down this year. Hopefully, things will change. I love basketball, would like to see the SoCon make some noise more often.

Well, that sucks for App. A runner misses as time expires for App and CofC escapes 73-72.

Charleston now has clinched a bye. Davidson is eliminated from a bye due to losing twice to Wofford as they can only tie them at best. Davidson beat The Citadel twice so they have the tiebreaker over them currently, but The Citadel could still tie Wofford and would have the tiebreaker over them if that happened.

El Citadel runs away from WCU in the 2nd half to win tonight. App just needs one more win or another WCU loss to clinch the North #1 seed.

WCU still needs a win or a UTC loss to clinch a first-round bye. Wofford as well can clinch a bye this Saturday with a win or an El Citadel loss.

with Wofford winning today, App State is mathematically eliminated from winning the Socon Regular season. The College of Charleston can clinch it with a win against Wofford. If Wofford wins out they can win it too.

From the looks of things, Thursday night seems to be the Socon-regular-season-championship game

WCU lost at Kent State 74-72. DANG!!! So close, great game. 19-10 with Samford and UTC left, both at home. I am hoping for at least one win.

All the byes have been clinched with UTC and El Cit's loss. Now it's a matter of seeding as no one has sealed their seed yet. App can clinch North #1 on Monday.

Hey, no need to pile on our Cantamount friends...I'm sure they feel bad enough (plus we don't want upset The Cats). I for one don't want to see them again in the SoCon tourney (beating them three times would be tough). I would like another crack at CofC. Hopefully, ASU will take care of business tonight and wrap up the North.
