Why is SWAC Basketball So Bad?

the SWAC currently has 3 of the 9 lowest rated basketball teams in DI
- Alabama A&M
Alcorn St
Grambling St
They have a combined 4 wins. (AAMU and ASU both count a win over Grambling)
That's god-awful.

Financial problems of course but the women of Grambling recently pulled a upset on Indiana 65-62

The schedule has to have a lot to do with it. Some teams play all of their OOC games on the road.
