I know I posted the injury on another thread but I felt KB deserved this much from me. Reports indicate torn ACL, MCL and LCL and possibly it all adds up to a career ending injury. I swear they let him come back too soon. We could have gone through the SUU game without him. Just want to add my thoughts and well wishes for the young man. He is an exceptional athlete and person.

Karrington Bush Injured

The Texas State Bobcats picked up their first win at Nicholls State since 1999 over the weekend.

It came at a cost, however, as running back Karrington Bush injured his knee and will have an MRI Tuesday.

Bush had his best game this season rushing for 165 yards on
just twenty carries. That's an average of 8.1 yards per carry.

He also had a couple of receptions for 12 yards.

Bush is a big key to the Bobcats offense since he is the first back since Claude Mathis to rush for over a thousand yards in back-to-back seasons.

Too late for a medical redshirt and there is a possibility he can get one next year because this could take 1 - 2 yrs to heal and then he still may not be able to play again. He has/had NFL potential

KB will have surgery in the next 3 weeks. 6 months recovery, then rehab and then back into football shape (if that's at all possible.)

Heard TXST is going to go for a medical redshirt for Bush. He only played 1 series in game 1, missed the next 2 games, played in last 3....2 with limited pt.

Here's my question - is it possible? Reading the NCAA rules it says 30% etc, etc. But it also is saying something about playoffs. So, do we assume/count the season as 15 games, with the assumption any team could make the playoffs, or do we just go off 11? Would that first game, technically, count?

I'm confused

Edit: Accordingly to the bylaws the school has the choice of computing the 30% rule by using either the "scheduled" or "completed" test. Scheduled means regular season. Completed would include any playoff games. :thumb:

...and how would "scheduled" versus "completed" make a difference for Texas State this year?

I don't see us making the playoffs, just possibly being a spoiler of one team or another. The difference, to me, is that this kid was a pres-season All American who has just lost his jr yr if they don't get the redshirt.

Even with his injury (or should I say, repeated injuries) this year and lack of PT he ranks 14th in rushing, 1st in ypc, 12th in ypg for KOR and 10th in APR (amongst other categories) for active players. Without this (injury) he would be right up there again as he has been the past 2 seasons.

So, do we get him his redshirt so he has 2 more years (If granted)? That's the difference.

Then again, I dont' want to see him play again if he shouldn't.

It wouldn't. I was just stating the general rule.

Catmom on the bright side we lost Lex Hilliard to the knee injury and he was able to come back from it and be extremely productive and then go on the NFL so this kid may be able to have a good chance to continue with his career once all is well with him again.
