I say that's pretty fuckin' funny if it wasn't going to be true, most likely.mass fan wrote:This year.weberwildcat wrote:When was the last yr the big sky got just one team in the playoffs?

That was a bizarre season-ending result that year. The Griz won a close game against the Bobcats to get to 6-2/8-3, but all CS-Northridge had to do was beat last place Idaho State to clinch the auto-bid (they beat UM at home earlier). Northridge lost that game & Montana won the title outright w/ 2 conference losses. The Griz subsequently got a 13-seed and lost 52-9 to Western Illinois in the first round.AZGrizFan wrote:1998.weberwildcat wrote:When was the last yr the big sky got just one team in the playoffs?
I'm just spitballin' here, but do you really think an 8-3 team that won the NC 3 years earlier would have gotten left out?Mvemjsunpx wrote:That was a bizarre season-ending result that year. If Northridge wins that game, they get the auto-bid and the Griz playoff streak probably ends at 5. Instead, the Griz would set a record and continue the streak to the present while Northridge would drop football just 3 years later.
Maybe/maybe not AZ but that was one of our worst teams (Still good) in the last 20 yrs. 1990,91, & 92 were worse but that year we struggled and may not have made it as the conference wasn't real strong and the fact that we were on the road in the first round in spite of getting the auto bid makes me think we may have sat that one out. That game at WIU was a fucking bloodbath to prove the committee right.AZGrizFan wrote:I'm just spitballin' here, but do you really think an 8-3 team that won the NC 3 years earlier would have gotten left out?Mvemjsunpx wrote:

I remember that year. Northridge was hoping for a good playoff run to make them and the Big Sky relevant in the saturated Los Angeles football market. They lose to the Bengals and missed out on the playoffs. Soon after, they were done for good.Mvemjsunpx wrote:That was a bizarre season-ending result that year. They might have been the last team in, but they were already the 13-seed with the auto-bid. If CSN gets in, that bumps the Griz down to 14. I don't know if the #14-16 teams were auto-bids or not.AZGrizFan wrote:I'm just spitballin' here, but do you really think an 8-3 team that won the NC 3 years earlier would have gotten left out?Mvemjsunpx wrote:
