What do you say?!?!

Top 30 for me. The loss to Hofstra is killer but I still can't find more than 30 teams that I would pick to beat JMU.

Not top 25.... the way they are looking when Thorpe is in the game, not top 30

I would tend to have them at around 30 or so

Top 40. Still on my radar, but no serious consideration for top 25 this week

Not in the top 25 right now. They may be good on paper, but 2-4 on the field is not good enough to get ranked.

Enough with JMU.......they have been given WAY too much adulation this season.

Sitting at home on thanksgiving weekend.
but they could definitely be a spoiler for other teams that are still in contention (though I don't know who is left on their schedule)

They have them all on the road (at W&M, at Delaware, at UMass)........I don't think that they will win any of them.

If JMU wins out and finishes 7-4, are they in the playoffs? Will they get credit from the committee for winning their last 5 games?

They win out, I'd say their in. If they win the last five, that gives them wins at William & Mary, at Delaware and at Umass. That, as well as their deep run last year should propel them to the playoffs. They don't win, they are done, in more ways than one.

this team reminds me a lot of EWU last year. A lot of hype but just isn't doing anything.
They are finally out of my top 25, and unless they run the table I am not sure they will make it back in.

Does this really need to be asked? Is there anyone who still believes we are truly a Top 25 anymore?

My guess is no, maybe Hofstra wins out and that loss looks a lot better, but unless that happens it is a bad loss. The last 7-4 team to make it was UNH in 2007, and they were 5-2 at this point of the season. I know the committee places an emphasis on form, but is a 7-4 CAA better than an 8-3 Big Sky or Missouri Valley this year in their eyes? I honestly don't know.

They belong in the place they are most accustomed to. Behind Old Dominion. Why should football be any different than any other sport?

Nowhere near the Top 25. 2-4 teams should not be places in front of 4-2 or 4-3 teams from the power conferences.

They've been a tough team to put a label on this season - an OT loss to (admittedly) a rather weak FBS, a solid win a Liberty, a tight game with the defending NC's, then meltdowns against Hofstra and 'Nova. I don't know if it's Mickey's QB experiment that has done them in to this point or what - they clearly have some talent, but can't seem to bring it consisently week to week.

They don't belong in the top 25. They would be more than a handful for most teams outside the top 25 (and not in the CAA...

) but that is about it. They certainly don't deserve to be in the discussion about the playoffs now either, so just stop that.

I think you're jokin', but the only way ODU would jump ahead of JMU is if we beat VMI (our common opponent) and win out the rest of the way, and the Dukes lose the rest of the way. Then statistically, yes, I'd say we'd jump ahead. On the field, JMU would still crush us (I think...for their sake).
JMU is outside of my top 25 right now. A win against VMI is meh; a win against Liberty is good. I'll give 'em a pass on the Maryland loss, but the other three are still FCS losses, and the last time I checked, a "good" loss is still a loss. At 2-4, it'd be embarrassing to any poll if they were included.

You have to consider, though, that three of their four lossed are to CAA teams. They do have that one bad loss to Maryland, but given the overall strength of their competition, I think the Dukes should still be ranked.

Thank god JMU gets to play Todson at the end of the year to clear up that discrepancy
Oh, almost forgot the AZGF coffee drink to signify that I know everything
